Closure

I stood at the edge of the sea and said goodbye to all of our memories
I do not wish to hold onto them anymore

And as the salty breeze blew back my hair
I finally felt free

I let the waves brush up against the hem of my jeans
And I learned how to give myself the closure I deserved

The ocean has a funny way of rounding your edges
Turning the words you cut me with into beautiful sea glass

I stood on the rocky shore and I watched the waves recede back into the bay
But I will not be joining them
