It was a cold day in the month of December in the year 2002 and the voices of two young couple could be heard in the not so bright parlour.
The gentleman who happens to be the husband was moving a luggage to the door and his beautiful wife who was also young was pleading with him to stay
"Babe! Do you really have to go ?" The young lady said almost in tears
"Nah! Don't do that. You and I Know that this trip is a must if I have to secure that promotion. Don't worry I should be home to celebrate new year with you " The gentleman said trying to soothe his wife
"You should?!! You're not even sure if you would be available " the young lady said still sad
"Okay come with me " the gentleman suggested holding her hands
"How am I supposed to come with you when I have a family get together at Abuja" she said with a wry smile on her face
"Babe it's just Ghana. It's not far from Nigeria and I promise you, as soon as I'm sure of when I will be coming back I'll let you know "
"Are you sure?"
"Yes I'm sure and you can stay at your Mom's till I tell you when I'd be back, okay?"
"Okay" the young lady said with a smile on her face
"Let me drop you off at the airport" the young lady said grabbing the luggage
"No! No! I can't afford to stress my beautiful baby. I already called a ride. It should be hear any moment from now " the young man said taking her hand off the bag as he hugged her and said bye.
The moment he stepped out, he saw the ride. He kept his luggage in the boot of the car, he waved his wife goodbye one last time as he got into the car.

"Which responsible married woman goes to the club on a Christmas day for God's sake" a woman in her late 50's said angrily at her daughter who was dressed to go out for some fun late at night
"And which law states that a married woman can't go to the club" the lady retorted back walking angrily to the door
"Joy! Joy! Does your husband know what you're about to do" the old lady said again worried
"Mom leave Luke out of this. It's not like I know what he's doing over there in Dubai "
"Joy! Don't you dare leave this house " the old lady said angrily
"This is why I hate coming home! Goddd! You won't let me be . I'm not a kid okay , I'm married so I can make decisions myself " Joy said as loud as she could
"And I'm still your mother! If you step out of this house I'll let Luke know about this "
"Ahhhhhhh!!! What do you want from me?!" Joy grunts angrily
"I want you to be as responsible as a wife should be. Stay at home"
"I'm just going to have fun, can't I at least have that much? uhhh?" Joy said tiredly
"You can have as much fun in THE HOUSE"
"That's it! I'm out of here " Joy said finally walking out on her mother.

At the club, Joy kept drinking and drinking on her own getting herself drunk intentionally due to the argument she had with her Mom. She wasn't even able to have the fun she planned to have and it made her drink more.
After ensuring that she was completely drunk, she grabbed her bag and left the club staggering as a drunk person should.
Outside the club, she kept flagging down cabs to take her home but no one would take a drunk lady dressed almost naked so as to avoid misunderstanding.
After flagging down lots of cabs, she got tired and decided to give up when a black Toyota Corolla packed in front of her.
She happily opened the door, hopped in and dozed off on the seat.
The driver who was dumbfounded tried waking her up
