John Miller clenched his fist and suppressed the urge to beat the student sitting next to him to a bloody pulp as he got jostled around once more.
The bus taking him to his new school was packed full to the brim with hyperactive students who apparently didn't realize that summer was over.
He hated it but he knew attending his new school was necessary.
He didn't come this far just to turn back when faced with some annoying fucks.'Smack!'
Another balled up sheet off paper hit John in the back of the head, his seat neighbor not even trying to hide his laugher.
Nope.
That was it.
John sprung up from his seat and lifted the fat fuck sitting next to him by his food stained color.
He got up in his face and said: "Listen here you fucking cunt. If you open your fucking mouth one more time during this ride I will break your jaw and fucking rip. It. Off. You got that through your thicc skull?? Good. Then sit down."
He let go and let the boy fall back hard onto the plastic seat.
He was pale and shaking and now avoided so much as looking into John's direction.
John also sat back down and ran a hand through his brown locks.
God the sun had already gone down and he was still sweating like a pig.
Who's bright idea was it to give the students a mendatory blazer to wear at this time of the year?
The whole bus quieted down after John's little outburst and John leaned back and relaxed for the ride. When they reached their destination, John was the first to leave the bus and step onto the dead graying grass below.
It crunched under his shoes.
John looked up and there it was.
Surrounded by a deadly looking spiked fence was his new school, impossibly big and surpringly modern looking, Ryoutei Academy.
It had been built many, many generations ago and still practiced the custom of hosting its lessons during the nighttime instead of the day.
John didn't understand how this school could still have such a large student body but he wasn't complaining as it helped him slip under the radar and not stand out.Slowly with an ear piercing and eerie creak, the gates opened and the students streamed in.
John held his time table tight in his hands so he wouldn't loose it and followed suit.
The inside looked just as modern and luxurious as the exterior and looked at his time table to where his first class would be.
He asked around a bit and discovered that it was on the third floor, but when he looked at the time he realized that class would start in 5 minutes.
John quietly cursed to himself since he had wanted to explore the school a bit more.
But he swallowed his anger down and took a seat at the window in the back.
One after another the other students trailed in and John's eyebrows rose higher and higher when students with increasingly peculiar hair and eye colors entered the room.
John with his brown hair and brown eyes felt as if he had missed some kind of memo about the schools dress code.
Fucking freaks.
And he was worried about standing out to much which now seemed rather ridiculous.
Soon enough the teacher came in and got everyone to shut their mouths.
She talked about the summer and how she hoped that everyone had a great time before going quiet.
John took out some paper and a pen to get ready to take down notes but the teacher surprised him with a stern and saddened expression."I know it must be hard for you after what happened last year, but we must stay strong and keep on living. We cannot allow tradegy to ruin our lives.
We have to keep up our hope for the safe return of our beloved Yui Komuri.
Let's honor our lost students and do our very best this year."A sad atmosphere had settled over the room and many of his classmates were looking down at their desk, clenching their fists or wiping away tears from their eyes.
John felt his blood run cold.
His whole body tensed up and it was as if the breath had been stolen from him.
Lost students? There were others?
The lesson started but everything passed in a blur.
John couldn't concentrate, replaying the words of his teacher over and over again.
He eventually looked at the clock and saw that he still had 50 minutes of class left.
Dammit.
He wouldn't be able to explore school unhindered during the breaks since everyone else will be waking around as well.
He raised his hand and the teacher called on him."I.. I don't feel so good. May I go to the infirmary? I think I'm gonna be sick", John lied and held a hand in front of his mouth for added effect.
His teachers blue eyes widened and she took in his pale sweaty appearance.
"Of course. Please go lay down until you feel better darling, you look like you might faint."
"Thank you so much"
He collected a hallpass on his way out and left.
The infirmary was to the left so he took a right turn and got to work.
He had about 48 minutes to explore as much as possible.
If he didn't find anything he would need to wait until day time when all the other students were at home.
He looked through empty rooms students used for their clubs or whatever but didn't see anything he was after.
Not until he stopped by the sport trophies displayed on the top floor
The Glass case housing them was huge, almost spanning the entirety of one wall and the trophies where placed on dark pink velvet which contrasted nicely with their golden and silver hues.
John swallowed.
This was it.
If he couldn't find anything here it was all for nothing and he could just move back home.
And so he bagann searching, examining every single trophy and ribbon, reading the names of the Victor's ingraved on them.
And then he stopped.
He could barely believe it, the relief hit him so hard his knees buckled and his legs almost gave out.
On a small unassuming trophy near the end it stood.
Innocently carved in a cursive font."Lorelei Miller"
His little sister.
