He climbs up the ladder of the pool and rings out his long lavender hair before pulling it back in a pony tail. I loved it when he grew it out. And he was using a hair bow I gave him earlier that day. His chiseled chest glistened, still soaked from his dip. " (Y/N), Hellooo??" I snap from my stare and look to my best friend, Bulla. "Earth to, (Y/N)?? You ok?" She asks. I laugh "yeah I'm fine. Just wondering how long your brother plans on growing out his hair." Nice save. She begins laughing. "Right? Ugh. It's almost as long as mine. Hey Trunks!" I winced. 'Oh god.' I thought to myself. He looks over at us two. I half smile and begin to sweat. 'Get a hold of yourself! It's just Trunks! Geez.' "Yes?" He says approaching our lounge chairs. Bulla hands him a towel. "When are you going to cut your hair? You know mom hates it when you grow it out." She says. He scoffs. "Why does it bother you so bad?" He says, patting himself. Bulla turns to me. "Actually, it doesn't bother me at all. (Y/N) just asked about it." She smirks at me. I gasp and look at Trunks, who scrunched his eyes brows. "Uh-I-uh it doesn't bother me either." I start. Why am I so nervous. Darn Bulla for throwing me under the bus. She doesn't know this slight crush that I've been developing for her brother the past year or so. And neither does he...I hope. I need to play it off. "It's just...I wouldn't want someone mistaking you for a girl, that's all" I smirk. Nice save, again. He grunts. "Gee. Thanks, (Y/N)." He says as he wraps the towel around his neck and walks to a chair beside Bulla. I started to feel bad. 'Should I apologize? Would he suspect anything?' Bulla and I had been friends for as long as I remembered. Her family and mine are actually neighbors so we're over at each others houses a lot. Like, right now. They have a pool, which I take full advantage of whenever I can. Trunks, Bulla's older brother, had also grown to be one of my friends. He was a few years older than us, but unlike other 'normal' older brothers, he liked hanging with us girls sometimes. He was never mean, and always gentle. Can't say the same for Bulla to him. She could be so mean to him sometimes. That's why I felt bad for my comment. "Well, it's hot, so I'm getting in! (Y/N)? Join me?" She asks. I shake my head and lay back down. "Nah, you go ahead. I'm going to tan some more." She shrugs. "Suit yourself!" She says before running and diving in. I look over to Trunks, who was laying down, eyes closed, soaking up the sun. "Hey, Trunks?" I say. He peeks an eye open and turns his head to me. "Hm?" He hums. I turn to him slightly. "You know I was kidding, right? About the hair thing." I assure him. He smiles and closes his eye again, moving his head back to position. "I'm not so sure I believe you." He teases. I scoff. "I WAS kidding! By no means do you look like a girl. Someone would have to be blind to mistake you for a woman" I explain. He chuckles. "Well, thank you. I think going to have mom cut it anyways." My eye widen in horror "NO!" I say much louder than I intended. My tone shocked him as he turned his head towards me again, shielding his eyes from the sun. "What?" He says with a confused look. "I shouldn't cut it?" I put a hand behind my head and laugh nervously "No, well-uh if you want to go for it" I blabber. "I just said no because I kinda...like it long" I say looking down. I peer back up to him. He was back to laying back, eyes closed. But this time there was a grin on his face and his cheeks were a nice tint of red. Did I make him blush? "Ugh. I'm bored! (Y/N) lets go inside." Bulla says getting out of the pool. I stand up to bring her a towel. "Bye guys." Trunks says, eyes still closed. My heart beat quickens. "See ya" I call to him. I hung out with Bulla for a little bit before I went back to my house. I laid on my bed, staring up at my ceiling. I can't stop thinking about Trunks. I feel stupid for these emotions. We've grown up together so he's like my big brother too, right? The more I try and convince my brain that it was weird, the more my heart tells me it's not. I yawn as I turn to my side. I feel my eyes grow heavier, as my lids completely close and I drift into sleep.
~Sleep~
I wake up to a noise coming from my window. It sounded like knocking. There was a tree outside my window, so it's probably just windy outside. I flip to my other side and try to go back to sleep. *knock knock knock* ok, trees don't 'brush' against something simultaneously three times. I get up and creep to my window. I unlatch the lock and slowly open the window. "Geez I thought you'd never open!" Trunks whispers, floating into my room. My worried expression turns to annoyance. "What are you doing here?? Do you know what time it is?" I say. He looks over to my night stand. "It's 10 o'clock, grandma." He teases. "No one goes to sleep this early." Laugh and punch his arm. "Well do your parents know your here?" I gasp "Does Bulla know you're here." He shakes his head. "I told them I was going to train. And I really was, but then I saw your lights were off and wanted to make sure you were ok." He says looking around. I walk towards the window. "Well I appreciate your concern, but I'm fine. Don't let me interrupt your training time." I motion my hand in a sweeping motion towards the outside. He chuckles and walks towards me. He stops right in front of me and looks down. "I lied." I look at him puzzled "huh?" I ask. He brushed a strand of hair from my face. This makes me blush. "Wasn't ever going to go train. Ever since you left earlier, I couldn't stop thinking about you. I never see you without Bulla right there, so I thought I'd do the pleasure of meeting you here." My face gets hotter. "Really?" Was all I could ask. He laughs. "Yes, really. I don't know why. But something has hit me these past couple of weeks. You're not just Bulla's only friend that doesn't get on my nerves and is actually nice to me, I've grown to...like you. A lot" my heart beat gets faster as he looks at me with his bright aqua eyes. A huge smile forms on my face which complements my red complexion. I look up at him. "It's funny because I've grown to like you....a lot, too!" I mock his tone. He smiles then he takes one hand with mine and the other on my cheek as he pulls my face in to meet his. I close my eyes and our lips touch which only make my heart skip a beat or two. Because of his height, I'm on my tip toes. He moves his hand from my face to the middle of my back and I wrap my arms around his neck. We stand there, in front of my window over looking the tree, that even though it was nighttime, I swear I heard birds singing, sharing a moment that I've dreamt about for a year. Just me, my Saiyan, and the pale moonlight. ~
