The cloak felt wrong against Hunter's skin, so he threw it off, the door open and broke into a sprint. He heard Luz call out for him from the safety of The Owl House, but that didn't stop him. The grimwalker also heard Flapjack's chirps of concern over his head, but he didn't care to look up.
A few times, he stumbled over his feet, which only frustrated him further.Hunter, eventually, had slowed to a stop when he realised he wouldn't make it far if he wasted all his energy. Flapjack attempted to comfort him, keep him entertained, but Hunter just stared off into space.
'You looked the most like him.'
Looked. That was the moment Belos decided to get rid of him.
The idea was enough to bring tears to Hunter's eyes again, catching Flapjack very much off guard. He sobbed into his hands, flinching at every attempt the cardinal make to calm him.Hunter did eventually come to his senses, and realised that he certainly couldn't go back. But where would he go?
Flapjack chirped an answer at him as if he could hear Hunter's thoughts. He knew where he was going.
