A bit of horror, it's not my favorite genre to read or write, but I guess I have to try at least ?

To my great surprise, I actually enjoyed writing this (especially the last sentence). I guess we all have a bit of a psychopath side, don't we ?

Genre : horror

tags : #hotel #murder

WARNING : blood, violence, injustice (yes, some people are allergic to injustice, such as me xD)

Female protagonist (ofc ;) )

I thank the receptionist and grab the keys he hands me. I pick up my suitcase and head up the stairs. I arrive at the doorstep of room 666, the room I will spend the night in, in this hotel. I unlock the door and step inside before inspecting the room. The small bedroom has a simple bed and a chair next to a window. I see two doors on either side of the room. I suppose one leads to a walk-in closet and the other to a bathroom.

I drop my luggage and drop down on the bed, completely exhausted. I look at my watch : it read 23:32. It's too late to call my parents now, I'll do it tomorrow morning. So I get up, grab some clean clothes and head into the bathroom to take a nice warm shower.

After showering, I step out of the washroom feeling refreshed and walk to the window to enjoy the view. I stare at the glowing city below. It looks so magical, with all the lights shinning like floating stars in the darkness. I let out a deep sigh of content, and relief. Finally, I'm home.

I slowly concentrate on my reflection in the glass... Suddenly, I see a movement in the mirroring.

There's something behind me! I spin around fast on my heels and gasp at the dark creature behind me. It's standing on two legs like a man, but his face is covered in a frightening purple devil mask, and he is dressed entirely in black. I slowly lower my gaze to his gloved hand.

He is holding a large hunting knife. The kind you use to finish off your prey by slicing their throat once you've already shot them.

He swiftly takes a step forward in my direction.

I let out a terrified yell and dash to the closet. I slam the door and lock it, shaking uncontrollably. Who is he ? What is he doing here ? What did I do ?

I slip my hand into my pocket to call for help with my phone before remembering I left it on my bed after I decided not to call anyone. Nobody knows I'm back in the country. What am I going to do ? I mentally face-palm myself. Why am I so careless ?

I look around in the small space to try and find a weapon. A broomstick, an umbrella, a walking stick, or just anything that can help me in a fight.

I turn around to face the back of the closed area and let out a high-pitched scream. The monster is behind me!

I fiddle with the door lock, desperately trying to get out of the lion's den, but the door stays firmly locked and I remain imprisoned with this beast. I try to call for help but a gloved hand muffles my cries.

Suddenly, a sharp pain erupts in my chest and I look down on the floor. My hearts skips a beat at the sight of crimson red liquid, flowing out of the wound with the knife still sticking out of it.

I look into the eyes of my killer. He seems to smile at me before shutting the door of my life forever.

:)

I hope you're not too creeped out. (I am. It's 1am and it's dark here, and every noise sounds creepy for me 😭I can't believe I managed to scare myself.)

Anyways....
