Today's the first day of school, oh, joy.
I hate school with a raging passion, if i could quit here and now i would.
But, i have to get up at some point because i do not want to have to face the consequences of being late to school.
So here I am, walking to school.
The walk is 30 minutes, and it's freezing outside considering it's October.
Deal with it.
When I finally arrive to school the bell rings as I walk in the classroom.
Our teacher announces we have a new student, but I don't notice because all I hear is:
Blah, blah, blah, bullshit.
I never pay attention in class, so that's probably why my grades are always so low every year.
I am pulled out of my daze when I see someone sit down next to me, and I've never seen him before. The teacher just introduced him dumbass.
He's kinda cute, but I can't be focusing on boys. I have better things to do.
I feel like someone's staring at me, so I turn and i see the new kid staring.
I feel my face start to heat up, but then quickly dismiss it. He notices, and he starts smirking.
Then the bell rings making me get out of my chair, to my next class, gym.
Great.
Gym is the worst class by far.
Since it's the first day, all we do is run laps, but I'm sweating like a damn dog afterwards. I see a familiar face in the gym, but I just ignore it and try to focus on not sounding like I'm having a heart attack from running only 3 laps around the track.
The rest of the day goes by in a blur, considering Brittany isn't here.

When I get home, dads not home, so I call Britt.
"Hey Britt! Why weren't you at school today? I was so lonely" and I make sure for her to hear the frown in my tone.
"I skipped, I thought I told you?"she says.
"Oh sorry I think you did I just forgot." I say
"So..Tina asked me if I wanted to go to a party tonight, and of course i told her yes. Can you pleaseee come with me?" She practically begs.
"Britt i don't know.." I say. I was never the girl you would ask to go to a party, I usually just keep to myself.
"Please Lani! I'll be your best friend forever." We go back and forth for another 5 minutes until i finally agree.
"Ahhh thank you Lani! See you later!" She squeals.
"Bye Britt." I say as I hang up.
I look at the clock to see it's 5, so i should start getting ready. Britt said the party is at 8 and that she would pick me up, so I can take my time.
I go to the bathroom to start on my makeup because all of mine from earlier wiped off, and see the horrible sight.
In the mirror, I see a reflection of a girl with yellow and purple bruises littering her face, with a from plastered on.
I take my concealer and make sure to make no mistakes, covering up every one of them.
I get dressed into a long sleeve knit sweater and some white jean pants.
I hear a honk outside and pass my brother on the way out.
"Where are you going looking like that?" He says.
"Tina's party." I say.
""Since when have you went to parties Knee?" He remarks.
Ever since we were little he would call me "knee". He didn't like the name Lani, so he one day randomly decided to call me "knee".
"Since now" I say as I walk out the door.
I hear "Be careful!!" As I walk into Britt's car.
"Hey Lani! You ready?" She asks.
"Ready as I'll ever be." I say with a sigh
She giggles and we speed down the road to Tina's house.
We're 5 houses down and i can already hear the music as we start to pull up.
I get out of the car with Britt as she goes to find her boyfriend Chris, and as I walk in my senses are flooded with the smell of sweat, alcohol, and cigarettes.
I've never been the one for drinks, so I go to find a water somewhere.
"Do these hoes live off of fireball or something? Where's the damn water?"
I hear chuckling behind me and turn around to face the guy from earlier.
He stares me down for a solid minutes until he finally says something.
"Do I know you?" He says.
"No, but I know you." I say. I've heard about him already and it's his first day here.
"Well you might know me already, but I don't know you. Can I get to?" He says with a smirk.
I roll my eyes and walk away. I've seen him flirting with almost every girl in the hall in a span of 10 minutes. Im not just going to fall on my knees for some new so called "king" at our school.
I finally think I find a water bottle, so I take it and take a big chug. But to my surprise, it's actually vodka in a water bottle. My face turns to one of discusting before i throw away the "water bottle".
I hear a laugh behind me to see Billy, once again.
"Can I get your name?" He asks
"The new crowned king Billy wants to know my name?" I retort as he chuckles
"Leilani." I say.
He repeats my name, testing it out on his tongue.
"Yes, Leilani. Are we done here?" I say.
A confused look comes on his face for a split second and then a smirk replaces it.
"You can't handle me for too long?" I roll my eyes.
"See you later Billy." I say while walking away.
As I'm walking out the door, someone pulls me aside.
