Fridays were always bad for Rosemary. It was a sad reminder. At the end of the week mostly anyone else would go off to see loved ones or go out partying. In her case she went home to her dog and her empty couch.

A few months ago though, she had made a new friend at the bookstore she goes to for cheaper books. They had grown close over the past month and occasionally he would come over to her house to watch movies and talk.

When she opened her apartment door, she could hear the tip taps of her schnauzer, Minnie, anf the silence of an empty home. She was almost in her thirties and still, she felt she had accomplished nothing. Closing the door behind her, she fell onto the couch, cuddling a pillow to her chest.

Rose pulled out her phone as Minnie curled up at her feet. Scrolling through Instagram, she saw post upon post of old college friends out exploring the world and having fun. Tears pricked her eyes as she realized how mundane her life had become after the death of her best friend. The only light was when she met Rain a few weeks after the funeral.

A few minutes into scrolling, she heard a knock at the door. Looking at her dog, who looked at her, both of them confused on who would come to her at 7 pm. Standing to her feet she had fixed her messy hair and wiped away the stray tears before opening the door.

In front of her, her new friend stood, holding flowers and a warm smile.
"Rain?... What are you doing here?" Rosemary asked nervously.
"I came to see if maybe you'd want to go out with me tonight? If you aren't too busy that is." He offered, his brows scrunching at the possibility of her being the latter.
The girl looked shocked, Minnie pushing past her legs and standing at Rain's feet, wagging her little stub.
"Me?" She asked quietly.
"Of course you. Why not you?" He responded, with concern on his face.
"Because... I'm sure there are more interesting girls elsewhere..."
Rain shook his head and patted the dog's head so that it would go back inside (and she did, trotting away happily) then he took Rose's hand to lead her out of the door.

She stumbled but managed to close and lock the door behind her before he tugged her away. Rose smiled happily as he pulled her to his car, opening the door for her to get in before he got
in the driver's seat.

"Where are we going?" She asked as she calmed her breathing.
"To the park. I want to go stargazing with you, is that okay?" He asked as he held her hand in his.
Rose now smiled contently, watching as he started to drive. She nodded happily at the date place, squeezing his hand softly. "Thank you." She hummed.

Rain looked at her for a moment before bringing her hand up to his lips. "No no... Thank you, you've helped me a lot this month, dove."
The ghoul looked at her for a moment during a red light before looking back towards the road.

His month had been rough due to constant practicing for an upcoming tour. Copia had been relentless because it was their biggest one yet. Anytime Copia works them so hard it makes everyone stay on edge until the show is over. So she had helped relieve the stress.

As they pulled into the parking lot, Rosemary looked out at the beautiful field beyond them. It held a lake and off to the side a somewhat big children's playground. There were a few people here and there.

They got out of the car and headed to the empty playground, deciding to sit on the swings until it got dark enough to even start stargazing. Rose sat on the higher swing, making rain sit on the swing meant for younger children. The way his knees bunched because of how low he was caused her to grin, finding it a little funny.
