Drunk Seduction

I sat at my dining room table, only a thin sheet of satin covering myself. The best satin covering myself. Only the great get this.

Of course I'm tipsy. I've had a bottle and a half of Whiskey. My eyes are dropping down my face and my limbs are heavy. I've let myself go.

With Changretta planning to set fire to the Shelby family, and the Shelby family being completely out of resources, I feel I am at the heart of the whole problem.

And Michael.

It's something about the way his eyes brighten every time he sees me. His pep in his step whenever he leaves the room. It makes me feel happy. I'm longing for the feeling days after.

The door opened, then shut calmly. Harsh footsteps walked into the dining room, removing his flat cap and coat, placing them on the bench beside the wall.

"I think we should think about what we're doing to each other." Tommy said, sitting across from me.

His eyes gazed from my face down to the v neck of my satin robe, seeing I wasn't wearing anything underneath. The thin fabric enlightening his eyes and approaching a deal from another perspective.

"I won't remember anything in the morning." I downed the glass and sat back in my chair, smashing the glass down on the Mahogany. "But please, tell me."

His face was unreadable. He didn't know if he should walk out, hoping nothing happened, or if we should fuck.

"This is none of my business-" he started

"Then don't ask. You want to disgust business," I looked at the clock. "At Three in the morning. I won't remember, so we're just wasting each other's time." I poured myself a second glass, making Thomas take it for himself, sharing the glass. "Hell, I didn't even invite you."

"You took all of our names off your lists, except for Michael. Why is that?" He looked at me, his eyes determined to get information out of me.

"I like Michael." I said, completely oblivious to why he was asking. "Call me a girl in love." I downed the rest of the liquor.

"I'm not sure Michael feels the same way, Doc." Tommy smiled, laughing a bit.

I shrugged, stumbling as I got up, looking for another bottle to abuse while he was here. I had rows and rows of the drug.

"You know, Anna, I promised to take your sister to a race..." Thomas pressed on as I looked for the bottle I wanted. I wanted to be so intoxicated that I passed out.

Thomas's hands came behind me, pulling me into his chest, rocking me back and forth, basically lulling me to sleep. His lips came in contact with my neck, and his hands to the inside of my robe.

"I know what you're doing, Shelby." I broke myself from his embrace. "I'm not sleeping with you."

"It was worth a try, wasn't it?" He pulled out one of his cigarettes, lighting it before I had the chance to take it away. I decided I wouldn't burn my hands. "I'll be here at 7:30 to pick your sister up."

White lights and cold water on my face was the first thing I felt when I regained consciousness.

Lenora sat at the foot of my bed and Michael Gray sat in the chair, reading the paper. He must have been the one who brought me to this god forsaken hospital.

"Nice to know you're still fucking alive," Lenora retorted as she hugged me. I gasped at the sudden pain in my abdomen, it felt like I was about to explode. "Mickey, go get the doc for her, will you?"

Mickey? That's either an insult or a friendly term. Coming from Lenora, it's probably an insult.

"Well, Doc." The lab coated man came into the room. It was ironic that he called me doc when I was the one being taken care of. "I'd advise laying off the hood for a while."

I laughed. Everybody looked at me strangely, so I covered it with a cough.

"You have alcohol poisoning. Take a pain reliever and you should be fine. But lay off the hard liquor. Gin at the most." The doctor told me, then wrote me a dismissals pass.

"If I don't?" I asked while searching the room for my clothes. My jewelry was still on my body, just not my clothes.

"Your liver is already at risk, Doc. I'd say a drink every once in a while."

Well fuck.

The doctor leaves the room, leaving Lenora, Michael and I alone. Michael is leaning against the wall, his arms crossed as he eyes me. His eyes aren't lit up like they usually were. They were cold.

"Could you please hand me my clothes," I said towards Michael, giving him a cold stare that mimicked his own.

Michael picks up the purple satin, folded so neatly. I could hear the dangle of the jewels on the waistline as he walked over and set it in front of me. His gaze is cold and freezes me to my core.

I slipped the dress over my head, then stood up and let the rest fall to my ankles. The pain in my stomach was almost unbearable. It felt like I was getting stabbed right in the cervix.

"Tommy brought you here last night after you passed out in his arms," Michael told me. "Want to explain it?"

"I don't owe you anything." I slipped on my heels, now coming eye level with him. "The last thing I remember is Tommy Shelby coming into my house to disgust business."

"You don't remember, aye?" He rose his eyebrows, taking out a cigarette and French inhaling it. I could see in his eyes what he was talking about. Something I dealt with for years.

"Thomas wouldn't ever do that. It would ruin his reputation." I eyed him. "Do you really think that low of your cousin?"

Michael inhaled again, then exhaled away from my face. "Fuck you Anna." He spat, then walked out of the room.

The pain in my abdomen hurt. It wasn't like after a rough night, it was a continuous pain. It felt like a million daggers were going into me, then coming back for more.

Lenora handed me two pain killers, which I took with gin. Fuck the doctors orders. I'll do what I damn well please.

Lenora looked at me, then at the door that was still swinging back and forth. Her eyes widened as she saw me drink another glass of gin.

"Anna, you're killing yourself." She told me.
