The Purple Lily

In the village

It was in the afternoon that Vanessa began heading back home from the town's market. She was wearing a white kirtle dress with a black corset. She had a small basket in her hand carrying all the fruits and vegetables that would last for a week. After a 10 minute walk she reached her home. The house was nothing special, just a nice small cottage.

There were 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a nice small kitchen with a dining table. Vanessa took out her key and unlocked the cottage door. She walked inside and placed the basket down on the circular table and sat down in one of the chairs near the window resting her feet.

After a while she picks up the basket and walked to the big clay pot that was on the floor. She took the top off and started unpacking the basket. After she was finished, she put the top back on. She then placed the basket down on the counter, then she went to the bathroom.

She started to undress herself then she turned on the faucet of the tub. When the water was at the perfect height and temperature she turned off the faucet and got in. 13 minutes later she gets out the tub and dries herself off with a towel. She then gets ready for bed, she was wearing a plain white nightgown. She headed to her bedroom and blew out all the candles and got in bed. She closed her eyes and went to sleep.

The next morning she gets out of bed and does her morning routine which included washing her face, brushing her teeth and getting dress for the day. Today was the "Tea and Gossip" gathering party for the women of the village, so she decided to wear one of her best dresses. It was a light brown kirtle dress with a dark brown and green corset.

She ordered a cake from the baker the day before, who's shop was just down the street, so as soon as she was ready to go, she went and picked up the cake and started heading to the gathering party.
