Radioactive Extraterrestrials

The car crash was devastating, absolutely terrifying. Even though I wasn't in it, my great grandfather was. He meant a lot to our family; he always showed up at our thanksgiving dinners, ill or not, and was the funniest out of all of us, considering we didn't have a good sense of humor, and was the nicest too. To me though, he was one of the best drivers I had ever known. That is why it was quiet a mystery as to why this car crash happened though, and also as to why it happened right in front of us. It took place July 4, 2013. He just suddenly started to swerve and, by his shocked face, you could tell it wasn't suicide or a sudden accident. His face was as if he saw someone or something else controlling the wheel.

He then suddenly crashed into the nearby river bank, just across the street from us. After a minute or two, recovering from our shock; I started running to the car only to soon be stopped by my uncle dashing with lighting speed across the street. We soon started to follow him to the river bank with some concerned, and some devastated faces. Some of us just assumed him to be dead, while some hopefully assumed he was alive and in shock. The others, like me, didn't know what to think. We were all in too much worry and pressure to think of anything.

We finally made it to the car to see it drenched in mud, and half filled with green water, and next to the car we found my uncle, weeping rather loudly. By then, everyone started to push the little kids away from the river bank; knowing that they were to be bombarded with many questions later anyway, rather than the constant bawling and crying knowing he was gone for good. Luckily though, they didn't push me away- knowing I was somewhat old enough to understand the concept of death and deal with the pressure rather than how the little kids would. I then, unexpectedly and on instinctual curiosity, looked inside the wrecked car only to see it half filled with muddy green water, and a lot of sticky green and grey moss. Soon enough, was when my uncle pushed some of it away and revealed what looked like a very tattered, broken-up, and slimy carcass that looked as if an animal already got to it.

It was too gruesome for my uncle apparently, although I can see he tried hard not to puke in front of everyone. I went to the driver's side of the car and took a closer look at the ghastly carcass. Things like this don't normally gross me out though; considering watching my uncle trying not to puke was slightly amusing, if not for this event occurring. I then resumed 'inspecting' the horrendous carcass and saw that there were many purple and greying fingerprints on the sides of his head that looked as if the fingers had been drilled into the skull. For once, the sight frightened me and I let out a shriek that could probably be heard from miles around us.

My uncle rushed to my side, still looking nauseous, and immediately inspected to see what caused me to scream. I slowly lifted my shaking finger and pointed to the head while trying to look brave, but obviously failed. He looked from my frightened face to where I was pointing, and eventually saw the purple, drilled-in fingerprints. He eventually looked too pale to even be standing up-right. By then, all our neighbors crowded around due to curiosity and interest. That's when all the panic started to rise around us, many of our neighbors were obviously not good in a crisis, and soon enough, my uncle then started to panic dramatically and began dialing the police.

That's when the first wave of nausea hit everyone. I then bent over, getting ready to puke, when I smelled it; Radiation. Everyone started to smell it when a small drop of blood came from my gums. Soon enough, as everyone had small drops of blood trickling from their faces; we started to hear a loud static, humming sound coming from a casually passing train. The train seemed as if it were moving in slow motion. Everyone, including me, were probably hoping this was part of the hallucination and confusion part of the symptoms; but the next thing that happened made us drop all thoughts about hallucinations, we knew it was too real.

The train slowed to a stop right when one of the cars started to lift up, very loudly and noisily breaking the metal, causing us to cover our ears- in which were now drenched in blood. The car completely lifted up, away from train, and started to slowly disintegrate and melt into a weird looking plane that had dark, faded purple spikes on the lower back and behind it while the rest of the ship was just plain dark blue and black. The radiation poisoning was getting worse by the minute and everyone-except for the kids who were currently inside-started bleeding from their; eyes, nose, ears, and their gums, including me. The weird looking aircraft then dropped an orange like liquid into everyone's yard.

Then, as soon as the aircraft was taking off, a part of the heavy nausea was lifted off my shoulders and the bleeding in everyone's gums slightly decreased. The strange aircraft then left a little before the fireworks started to go off, signaling the Fourth-of-July celebration was starting. We were all too distracted though. I then felt my eyelids go heavy as I was lying on the ground, watching the orange goo dissipate into the grass and the fireworks wildly going off. Then everyone surrounding me started to pass out while the other people in the world are enjoying their holiday not even thinking about the possibility of an extraterrestrial existence out in the rest of the universe. I know this sounds cliché, but it was an Alien doing that caused all of this. The humans are enjoying watching the fireworks in the distance not even thinking of the pure evil lurking behind it that could strike and kill our world in a matter of seconds. I can understand why they don't think about it though, why it never usually crossed their mind except when they joke about it or when it's in a popular or a this-is-so-in-right-now movie. There's no scientific proof that anything that's currently happening to us right now is true. Either that or they just don't care about those who suffer. That was one of my last thoughts until...Darkness...
