Jin XiuLan got scolded by their uncle Cheng back in Yunmeng Jiang Clan. She is grounded for putting herself in dangerous situation but luckily without their uncle knowing. Her older brother Jin Ling came to save the day, the two sneaks out to the town market with Fairy.

Jin Ling crossing his arms, he spoke coldly, " Kick you? Anyone who dares to mention the words " Wei WuXian " in front of me should be kneeling in gratitude if I don't kill them. Yet, you're shouting right in the middle of the streets. Do you want to die?! "
Wei WuXian didn't expect Jin Ling to appear here at all much less how arrogant he behaved thinking to himself, ' I wonder how did this child's personality turn it this way, with a poor temper and strong hostility. He learned all of his uncle and father's faults but none of his mother's strength except Jin XiuLan. Wait! If he is here then where is- '. Seeing that Jin Ling seemed as if he was still angered and walked a few more steps toward the man on the ground, Wei WuXian was about to interrupted suddenly a little girl voice heard , " Ling-gege! "
The charlatan didn't dare to make a sound but his eyes were full of appreciation. Jin Ling turned to Jin XiuLan who is pouting with a angry face, Wei WuXian and everyone try to hold back their squeal, ' So Cute!!! '
Jin XiuLan yells at her older brother, " Ling-gege is a big meanie!! Ling-gege leave A-Xiu behind!! And didn't wait for A-Xiu!! "
Jin Ling walk up to her and pat Jin XiuLan's head, " Sorry, Meimei. This gege is a big meanie for leaving you behind how about I treat you for a buns and candy apple? As for gege's apology? "
Jin XiuLan think for a while then nod her head.
Wei WuXian interrupted the siblings, " Jin Ling! Jin XiuLan! "
The two siblings turned to Wei WuXian, Jin XiuLan with a happy face and Jin Ling with murderous face, " You still haven't ran away yet? Well, you may as well stay."
Wei WuXian laughed, " Huh. Who was it again that was forced down onto the ground, unable to get up? "
Jin Ling sneered and blew a short whistle. Wei WuXian didn't understand the reason behind it but after a while the heavy huffs and puffs of some sort of beast came from afar.
As he turned around to look a black-haired spiritual dog of waist height went out of a corner dashing straight at him. The cries of fear on the street came closer, closer, louder and louder, "A mad dog's on the loose! "
With an immediate change in his face, Wei WuXian fled as fast as he could.
It had always been hard for him to bring it up but although the YiLing Patriarch was known for being ever-so invincible, he'd become a coward whenever he faced a dog. This couldn't be helped though. When he was still young before Jiang FengMian had brought him home, he grew up on the streets often having to fight for food with vicious dogs. After several bites and chases, he gradually became extremely scared of all dogs no matter the size. Jiang Cheng laughed at him because of this quite a lot of times. If he told others this, it would not only be shameful but also believed by only a few people which was why practically nobody knew of it. Wei WuXian almost died from the fright. As he saw a tall white figure, he quickly shouted at the top of his lungs, " Lan Zhan, save me! "
Finding Lan WangJi after chasing this far, Jin Ling was shocked, ' Why would this lunatic show up alongside him again?! '

Yet Wei WuXian ducked under Lan WangJi's arm and went behind him seeming as if he wanted to climb up like climbing a pole. Feeling a pair of arms clasp around him, Lan WangJi froze for an instant. Jin XiuLan bow and apologize, " A-Xiu apology for Ling-gege's action. A-Xiu made sure that Uncle Cheng punish him for being rude. "
Wei WuXian let go of Lan WangJi from behind and walk towards her, he smile then he did something which surprise Jin Ling and Jin XiuLan except Lan WangJi.
Wei WuXian is hugging her and spoke with a soft voice, " It's okay, you don't have to apologize for something you didn't do... "
" Little lotus..."
Jin XiuLan gasp, ' This name...I heard it before...'

Baby Jin XiuLan crying at day and night missing her mother's warmth, she doesn't want anyone else to hold her except her parents. The servants in Lanling Jin Clan give up trying to calm her down.
No one can't stop her from crying not even Jin Guangshan, Madam Jin, Jin GuangYao and even Jiang Cheng. But then something happen, someone stop her from crying.
At night in Lanling Jin Clan, baby Jin XiuLan is crying loudly from inside her crib and servants feel asleep on the floor. A ghost like man wearing black and red hanfu with his long black hair down, he chuckles and use his finger to wipe away Jin XiuLan's tears.
Baby Jin XiuLan open her eyes to saw him staring down at her with a smile

Baby Jin XiuLan keep staring at him until suddenly she started to smile then giggling. The man chuckled then slowly to a sad smile, " I'm sorry, little lotus. I'm sorry for taking away you and your older brother's parents away. I'm very sorry, I don't deserve to be you guy's uncle "
Baby Jin XiuLan doesn't like seeing him sad and decide to cheer him up by speaking in her baby language.
Jin XiuLan giggles seeing the man is not sad anymore. He laughed, " I love you, little lotus. I, Wei WuXian, your uncle will always watching over you "
