I walked in to the house after a long day of school and it was oddly quiet. I looked out of the front window and my parents and brothers cars were there. They had to be around here somewhere.
After checking all of the rooms in the house, I resorted to my last option.
The back yard. Why didn't I look here in the first place?!
I made my way down the steps and into the kitchen. I instantly heard voices coming from the back yard.
I pulled open the sliding class door, regretting it right away.
Standing next to my brother was him, Dalton. The boy who hurt me so much was back and standing any yard, with my family.
The noise of the door opening made everyone's eyes snap towards me.
But the only ones I focused on were Dalton's.
We stared at each other for what seemed like eternity, but it was only seconds, until my dad cleared his throat.
"Chelsey, honey you remember your brother's friend Dalton right?" he said.
I looked at my family and just nodded, I was lost for words. The only thing running through my mind was how did he get out of prison early? And why is he back?
I blinked and took a deep breath before looking at Dalton again. As soon as he caught my eyes on him, he gave me one of his famous Dalton smirks. Its one of the ones that scream I'm a bad boy'.
My mother began speaking. "Dalton is going to be staying with us for awhile until he gets back on his feet, after his uhhh-" she let her sentence run off not wanting to finish it.
So it did it for her "his what mom? Jail visit?" She shot me a look, telling me that it is uncalled for.
My dad gave her a look as if saying 'tell her the rest'. And she sighed and looked at me, deep in the eyes before speaking. "Sweetheart, we are going away for awhile"
I smiled "where are we going?!"
She just frowned "I don't think you understand, you're not going anywhere. Just me and your father. you will be staying with your brother and Dalton."
My smile faded and I just looked at her dumbfounded. She must me joking. But the look on her face was telling me otherwise.
I looked over at my brother he just shrugged. Then at Dalton, he had that smirk on his lips again. Those lips that I wanted to kiss so badly!
Wait. No, I can't think like that! I can not have any feelings for him! Especially sense he's my brothers best friend. I have known him forever!
But every time I look at him I get butterflies in my stomach. No. This is so wrong!
