Trent was looking around the coach's office, Ted offered for him to come along as they were going to talk to school kids. Trent thought it was planned that they just happened to be visiting a local school the day he came. "My daughter Bambi goes to this school, and she is doing half days so I can pick her up after" Ted explained, they made their way to the local school.

The school kids were sitting on the floor waiting for the announcement, Trent was sat in the sea of children. The headteacher gave a speech about how he never expected the school to win a single game let alone win the whole thing. He then introduced Ted who came running on the stage he was met with a scattered applause as well as a kid yelling wanker. Ted spoke for a couple of minutes before introducing Roy who got a much larger applause, the captain told the school kids that he was never one for public speaking or school. "why don't we get out of this stuffy auditorium, go out on the pitch? And have a proper fuck about" he offered feeling awkward, the children gasped before they broke out into cheering.

Roy and Ted sat on a bench while the former tied his shoelaces, "I think it's really cool you're doing this". "I'm only doing it cause my fucking niece and Bambi goes here" Roy snapped at him, not knowing that he had a niece Ted asked which one she was, "That idiot" he pointed her out as both Phoebe and Bambi ran towards him. Asking about doing headers, Roy agreed before scooping both girls in his arms and carrying them off. The kids lined up as Roy gently threw a ball at their head, making sure to compliment them. Ted then took over, when it came to Phoebe, she caught it and booted it accidentally kicking it into his nose causing it to bleed.

The bell rang signaling that it was lunch time, Ted and Roy made their way to reception to pick up Bambi and say goodbye to Phoebe. Ted began rambling how much fun it was when Roy finally snapped, "Enough. I've had it with your mind games and your stupid gifts. I mean what even is a wrinkle in time?". Ted opened his mouth to answer when Trent beat him to it, "it's a lovely novel. It's the story of a young girl's struggle with the burden of leadership, as she journeys through space and time" he explained. Ted nodded while pointing at the journalist in agreement, but Roy wasn't happy with the explanation. "Am I supposed to be the little girl?" "I'd like you to be".

This was the wrong answer as Roy ranted how none of it matters and how he, along with everyone else, is counting down the days until he's gone. He then finished strong by calling Trent a colossal prick before telling Ted that he was taking Bambi. Bambi, hearing her name on the bench she was on followed the footballer grabbing his hand and looking behind her to wave at her dad, who waved back. "Was that a good idea? Letting your daughter go with him?" Trent asked gesturing at the two as they walked towards Roy's car. "Bambi is safe and happy with him. That's all that matters. Are you hungry?" The coach answered before asking Trent about food.

While Trent and Ted decided to go for Indian, Roy and Bambi went to his. They decided to draw and play a few games while they waited for Phoebe to be done with the rest of school, Bambi suddenly looked sad as she remembered something. "Aww I didn't get to give Jamie his biscuits" she pouted as she handed Roy his own biscuits. Roy looked startled, "why the fuck would you give that prick biscuits?" he asked, taking a bite. "for telling Issy and Colin to leave Nate alone, he showed me" Bambi explained before moving her dog along the board. Roy continued to look at her in disbelief, he sighed before looking at the time and told her to get her shoes on as they were picking up Phoebe now.

45 minutes later they returned with both Phoebe and ice-cream, "can we play princess's and dragons, Uncle Roy?" the older of the two asked. Roy didn't look impressed, "will Bambi be the princess?". Bambi's face scrunched up at the thought before shaking her head, "I wanna be the knight that saves the princess" she declared. Phoebe nodded her head in support and approval in perfect unison they turned to the grown man in the room, "fuckkkkkkkk".

"Come on, gotta take Bambi back to her dad" Roy announced his crown still on his head, the girls moaned in disappointment before Phoebe asked if she could stay. Before he could answer both girls gave their best puppy eyes which was more than effective. "Fuck! Fine let me text Ted". To both girl's relief, Ted gave the thumbs up so after a few more hours of playing and dinner, the two were in Roy's bed (Phoebe's single was too small)  with him between them as he read a wrinkle in time to them.

"that it has to be me, it can't be anyone else" Roy read before the book fell down as he thought about the message of the book, "fuck!". Bambi giggled at his language, "that's a bad word, Uncle Roy" Phoebe gasped looking up at him. Roy thought about what to do next he couldn't leave the girls, but he had to find the side pricks, "right get your shoes on". While confused they did listen, but Roy did have to help Bambi put hers on, "right, here's the plan I'm gonna go into the club and headbutt either Isaac or Colin then we'll get a Mcflurry so neither of you tells your parents, deal?". Bambi and Phoebe looked at each other before turning back to Roy, "deal". Roy strapped Bambi into her car seat when he noticed the piece of paper on her lap, he grunted before pointing his head at the paper. Bambi has been spending a lot of time with him, so she knew what he was asking, "it's for Jamie, as he told the two boys with him to stop being mean" she explained.

Roy made his way into the club weaving between different bodies, making his way over to the younger football players. "Hello, Roy. I didn't know it was a retirement party" Colin joked with that being said Roy threw his head back then forward in a fast motion. Headbutting the Welsh man hard, everyone jumped up and gasped as they watched. "Stop messing with Nate! Now I don't know which of you I nutted, 'cause I don't see so well at night anymore but that goes for all of you!" he yelled at them before looking at what they were drinking. "Vanilla Vodka, such children", he then walked over to Jamie before handing him Bambi's drawing and slapping him on the arm, "Good lad".

Everyone sat in shock over what had just happened. Jamie unfolded the piece of paper, revealing a drawing of him and Bambi as stick men smiling and holding hands with Roy's neat handwriting above some squiggles, so he could read 'my second favourite footballer' with a load of hearts. Jamie smiled as he looked at it, he then carefully folded it before placing it in his pocket.
