CHAPTER ONE
"Wow, you came!" Mark yelled, spotting Gemini as he entered the bar. He handed Mark a glass of rum, which Gemini gulped down before plopping down next to his friend.
Mark grinned mischievously. "How come you're here? I thought you had a meeting with your father?"
Gemini shook his head, a mix of fatigue and frustration evident on his face. "I need to fuel myself. I'm so stressed right now." He refilled his glass, the amber liquid sloshing against the sides.
Mark clapped him on the shoulder. "Then let's get wasted and forget that stress." He raised his glass for a toast, and Gemini clinked his glass against Mark's, the sound echoing through the bustling bar.
As the evening wore on, the effects of the alcohol began to settle in. Gemini, usually a heavy drinker, felt unexpectedly light-headed. He excused himself from Mark, who was engrossed in flirting with a group of girls, and made his way to the bathroom.
Upon entering, a chilling voice broke the air. "D-don't, please!" The plea came from a cubicle, and it sent a shiver down his spine. "Please, don't do this!"
"Just shout, little boy. No one will hear you." The menace in the other man's voice fueled Gemini's anger.
Without a second thought, he rushed to the last cubicle and yanked the assailant away from the trembling figure. The sight of a young man, clearly terrified and crying, ignited a fire within Gemini.
He didn't hesitate; he punched the attacker, sending him crashing into the restroom door. The commotion caught the attention of others in the bar. Gemini quickly called security, his voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through him. "Lock him up before I make him suffer."
Returning to the cubicle, he found the young man still sobbing, visibly shaken. Gemini approached cautiously and wrapped his arms around him in a protective hug. Despite his own frustration, a part of him felt compassion for this boy—the source of his stress.
After a moment, he spoke softly, though his tone remained cold. "Come on, Fourth. Let me take you home."
The name hit like a slap. "No! I don't want to go home. Leave me here! I don't want to see you or my parents!" Fourth's voice trembled, and it only fueled Gemini's anger.
"That's what you get for being so stubborn," he snapped back, the words harsher than he intended.
In retaliation, Fourth slapped him hard across the face, the sting echoing in the tense silence. "You're heartless!" he shouted, and then bolted out of the restroom, leaving Gemini reeling.
As he stood there, breathing heavily, Gemini thought, I am heartless. That's why I don't deserve you.
Fourth's POV
Dressed in a tailored suit that felt more like a prison than a fashion statement, I found myself seated in a five-star restaurant with my parents. They insisted it was an important dinner meeting, but I had no idea what my role was in this charade. The stylist they hired had done their best, but I felt anything but fabulous.
Minutes later, familiar faces entered—Mrs. Titichareonrak and her family, my parents' business partners. I exchanged polite smiles, but inside, I felt like an outsider at my own life.
"Sorry for making you wait. My son is also on his way; he must be stuck in traffic," Mrs. Titichareonrak said, her voice a soothing balm to the tension.
As I scrolled through my phone, dismissing messages from my friends, I heard a familiar voice. "Sorry na~ khrub. I'm late due to the traffic." It was Gemini, and he looked effortlessly charming as he took his seat across from me.
