|| Chapter 3: first day on the job ||

KENNEDY'S POV:

I'm asleep when suddenly my alarm goes off causing me to wake up. We're supposed to be there for rehearsals at 10:30 and it's 8 now, so I get up take a shower, then get dressed for the day. I put on light makeup and go to the kitchen get breakfast. I walk in and see Mason and Tristan talking to each other, I ignore them and go and grab a granola bar and sit down on one of the chairs at the island to eat my granola bar while scrolling on my phone.

"Well good morning to you too Kennedy," I hear Tristan say a bit annoyed that I didn't say good morning, "Morning, happy?" I tell him with attitude as I look up at him from my phone "Someone's in a bad mood, and very," he exclaims as he walks out of the kitchen leaving only Mason and I in the kitchen. I continue to scroll on my phone just when I see out of the corner of my eye that Mason turns to me and suddenly says "What's wrong?" "Nothing, why" "Well you had a bit of attitude towards Tristan," he says a bit nervous. "Who are you, my mother," I tell him, it's funny I usually want everyone to not talk to me when I eat early in the morning, but this time it's different, I don't mind Mason talking to me, I adore it, I love the way he talks, I love everything about him.

MASON'S POV:

I'm sitting next to Kennedy in the kitchen, I think I may like her, but I know I can't like her. After filming we'll never see each other, plus she's way out of my league. All of a sudden I see her staring at me, looking at me from the corner of her eye. Those eyes are different then the average accidentally staring, those eyes are eyes of love. Does she like me? So I decide to scoot my chair a bit closer to hers, then put my hand on her thigh in a flirty way. We make eye contact when I then see her cheeks turn a shade of pink, wait is she blushing, I think to myself, she is. So I decide to start make a risky move, this could either go well or go bad.

KENNEDY'S POV:

Just then Mason scoots his chair close to me and puts his hand on my thigh and we make eye contact, I feel my cheeks heat up a bit, Which means I'm blushing, I hate that I blush too easily. We stay in that moment for what feels like forever with us slowly leaning in closer. When Suddenly we hear "What're you two doing?" both Mason and I jolt our heads to see who it is as we quickly go back to normal. We see Miguel standing there "How long were you there?" Mason asks "Not long, but get a room before you're about to make out next time." he says

It's about 9:45 now, I'm chilling in my room. Mason and I have steered clear of each other after what happened in the kitchen, why did Miguel have to walk in? I'm suddenly snapped out of my thoughts by hearing Brady yell "KENNEDY, LET'S GO!" I rush out of my room and go to the front door and see Brady tapping his foot impatiently. "Finally," he says "Sorry, I was trapped in my thoughts," "Just don't let it happen again," he says with a warning tone. We walk out the door and as we walk down the hallway I ask "Why're we leaving like 15 minutes before we planned?" "We're getting coffee" "You could've told me," I tell him

We all walk into the big building, we see two large square tables pushed against each other, each seat has a script and a name tag on the table in front of the seat. I'm sitting next to Maddy on my right and Miguel on my left. We do a table read of the whole script. We finish around 12:30, we go on a break for lunch then we go and get fitted for some outfits. I'm walking with Maddy to the trailers for fitting.

"So I heard about what happened with you and Mason this morning and in the kitchen," Maddy says "You did? Who told you?" I say a bit panicky " Miguel, we were both walking up to the car this morning and since he knows me and you are close, he was telling me about it," she explains "Ah," I say signaling that it made sense "So what's happened since then with you two," she asks curiously. "Well, we've steered clear of each other ever since then," I tell her as we make our way into the trailer.
