Ch.2

Adrian's POV~
I grumbled showing up to work and I sighed heavily rubbing my face pulling up my hoodie. I pounded on the door knowing I felt exhausted that day. "Hey kid, come in." My boss says. Only a selected few people have been able to work for my boss and one of them is me. He seemed to like me for some reason so he chose me to stay and keep working for him. Sometimes I hated being in the mafia but it made good money on the side when I needed it. "So where is this guy?" I asked as he chuckles. "Right over here, you might know him." He says as I nodded and he opens the door as I walked inside and my eyes widened. Lily's abuser. "How did you find him?" I asked as he smirks. "I have connections and plus he did a side job for me but hasn't given me my money." He snaps punching the guy in the face. "Stop, I want answers from him first." I said as my eyes turned dark and I clenched my fists knowing I was angry. Lily has been trying to get rid of this guy since her attack but now I can kill the guy myself finally like I promised her. "Take it away." My boss says as the guy looks up at me spitting blood onto my hoodie. "Damn, this is my favorite hoodie." I said as I punched him in the nose. He grunts in pain and I could tell Jack had been going at him for a few hours. "Why'd you hurt my girl!?" I snapped at him clenching my fists and he smirks. "Your girl? You two are a thing now?" He chuckles as I grabbed his arm twisting it backwards. "You don't get to speak bitch." I snapped. "Answer my question, why'd you hurt my girl?" I snapped as he chuckles. "She was a good fuck, plus she was begging for it." He smirks as I growled grabbing his throat knowing he pissed me off. I looked at him with dark eyes and I punched him in the eye. "You won't be able to hurt her or anyone else again." I snapped as I grabbed my knife and I stabbed him in the throat killing him and Jack looks at me. "Your girl?" Jack questions. "He abused my best friend, in the streets." I said looking at Jack. "Is that why you were so surprised when I had him?" He asks as I nodded. "She'd been looking for him for months since she was attacked because the police could never track him down, I told her I'd find him myself and end his life." I said looking at him as he sighs. "Kiddo, I know you like Lily, but you can't always protect her." He says having his hand on my shoulder. "I don't care, I'm going too even if it kills me." I said. "So? Am I free to go?" I asked sighing. "You need to shower and change, you're covered in blood." He says as he hands me clean clothes and I sighed. "Just use the shower upstairs." He says as I nodded walking off. I know I'm obsessed with Lily but I could care less, I want to protect her.

Lily's POV~
I giggled being in the coffee shop as I smiled looking at my best friend. "Mandy, you know I'm able to visit you, I can ask Adrian to drive me, plus I'm just happy my best friend is engaged!" I giggles smiling. "Thanks Lily, you're literally the bestest friend I could ask for." Mandy says as I smiled kissing her cheek. Mandy and I have been best friends since diapers, we basically know everything about each other except our sex lives. "Why does Adrian have to drive you? I mean, don't you have your own car?" She asks sipping on her coffee. "Mandy, I sold my car years ago, remember? Senior year of highschool, I didn't have a car in college, I biked everywhere." I said looking at her as she sighs. "I know, it's just, you know how I feel about Adrian since ya know." She says as I sighed knowing me and Adrian hooked up once and he told the entire senior class. "I know, but you know he's changed since then." I sighed. "Plus, he'll only be there to drop me off." I smiled weakly. "Fine, but if he hurts you I swear to god." Mandy said as I giggled rolling my eyes. "He wouldn't hurt me again." I said and I sighed being in my apartment as I flicked through mail knowing it was mostly bills. I froze seeing another letter in the same handwriting from the last one. "I can't wait to have you to myself." It wrote. My breathing picked up trying to relax as I whimpered clenching my phone and I called Adrian. "Hey, whoa, relax it's just me." He says as I let him inside and I nodded knowing I was very on edge. "What's wrong?" He asks as I whimpered hugging him and he tenses but he hugs back and I hiccuped. "I got two random letters from someone and I don't know if I should report them." I hiccuped as he looks at me. "Let me see them." He says as I nodded handing him the letters and he tenses. "Lily, you need to report these." He says. "To who? The police do Jack shit, and I can't go to the FBI." I said as he sighs. "My boss can help." He says as I looked at him confused. "Your boss?" I asked as he nods. "He's good at tracking people down, it's kinda his job." He shrugs as I nodded sighing shakily. I was scared to say the least. "Will you stay with me tonight?" I asked as he smiles softly. "Sure." He says as he rubs my arm.

Adrian's Pov~
I was happy that she asked me to stay the night. It normally doesn't happen since we're both busy with work and shit. But I did want to keep an eye on her in case if anything bad happened. I smiled seeing her playing with her cat Pebbles. "He's getting older ain't he?" I asked as she smiles weakly. "Yeah, I mean, I've had him since my childhood." She says petting him. "I know." I said as she smiles weakly. "Thanks for staying with me tonight." She says sitting down next to me. "It's been awhile since it's been the two of us." She adds as I nodded. "It has been." I said. "How's your paintings?" I asked knowing she was an artist. "Good, I'm working on one now actually." She smiles. "Mind if I see?" I asked as she giggles. "I'm not spoiling it." She smiles as I chuckles nodding. "Alright, well you wanna watch a movie?" I asked as she nods. "Sure." She says as she grabs the remote turning on Netflix. She lays her head on my lap as my body stiffens. "You okay?" She asks as I nodded. "Yeah." I said as she nods. Half way through the movie I noticed she had fallen asleep on my lap and I smiled softly playing with her hair. "Goodnight Lily." I whispered as she snores softly.
