It was a cold, dark night. Y/N walked on the streets, illuminated only by the dull glow of the street lamps. The wind chilled Y/N's nose and burned their eyes, so they pulled their navy blue scarf over their face. They needed to find cover, and fast, or else they could die of frostbite. Scanning the surrounding area, Y/N saw it: a GameStop. The red and white glowing sign was like a beacon in the night, a warm, comforting place for Y/N to rest. They sprinted towards it, nearly breaking the door down before they managed to finally push it open.
Immediately, the warm air of the GameStop washed over them, and the smell of new and old CDs alike filled their nostrils, along with the distinct aroma of body odor. They pushed down their scarf, and walked over to the Wii game section to browse. They weren't looking for anything in particular, maybe an old copy of the sims, or perhaps the original Super Smash. Either way, it didn't matter; Y/N was just glad to no longer be freezing. They ran their hands over each CD case, trying to ignore the unknown substances and crust still caked on each one. Nothing piqued their interest so far, at least, not until they looked up. And there it was: The Sims 3. Adrenaline pumped into Y/N's veins, excited to see such a marvelous game. The blond girl in the pink bikini, the man with short brown hair, the blond man in the background. Oh yes, this was it! Y/N stretched for the CD, their fingers barely grazing it; alas, Y/N's height of 3'11 inches prevented them from reaching the game of their dreams. They sighed, rolled back on their heels, and sobbed. This was it. With no way to get the game, Y/N felt hopeless. Everything was falling apart in their life after their great-great-great grandpa died, and this was just another thing to add to the list.
That was, until, they heard a noise behind them: footsteps. So faint, they questioned if they had actually heard it or if it was a cruel trick of the mind. Just then, they felt a foot on their shoulder. Surprised, they turned around and saw him: a 8 foot tall Wii controller, with no arms, wearing a long black trench coat. He spoke, in a deep, gravelly, sexy voice:
"Do you need any help?"
Y/N was stunned by his beauty, they couldn't speak. The gorgeous buttons, the cleanly cut toenails, it was all too much.
"Um, y-y-yes"
Y/N feebly mustered. The wii controller looked at them knowingly, and extended a foot to reach the game. His toes wrapped around the game, and slowly he brought down the game from the previously unreachable shelf. He handed- well, maybe not HANDED- the game to Y/N, who was still awestruck.
"T-t-thank you, s-sir"
"Please, call me Wiiliam" he replied. If he had a mouth, he'd be smiling. "How could I ever repay you, Wiiliam?" Y/N asked. Wiiliam thought for a moment, staring off into space (well, at least it LOOKED like he was) before answering.
"You could let me buy you coffee?"
Y/N was, once again, stunned. Did he just ask them out on a date? It couldn't be, Wiiliam was so handsome, so kind, he couldn't ACTUALLY want to go out with someone like Y/N. You see, Y/N had never quite been like other people. Instead of things like sports and makeup, Y/N liked to surf the web and order pizza from wish. As a result, they never got along with people their own age.
"Y-yes! Of course!"
Y/N responded, perhaps too eagerly. Wiiliam was so incredible, Y/N couldn't mess up this chance to be with him, even if it's just for a coffee date.
"Right this way, m'theydy" Wiiliam's voice was so enchanting, Y/N zoned out for a moment thinking about it. They walked towards the door, before Y/N paused.
"Wait!" They exclaimed. "It's cold out there!"
"Don't worry" Wiiliam said, slowly peeling off his trench coat. "You can have my coat"
Y/N didn't know what to say. Gingerly, they took the coat, and put it on. Although it was a bit to large for them, what, with Y/N being 3'11 and Wiiliam being 8 feet tall, they appreciated it nonetheless. They thanked Wiiliam, who in turn did his equivalent of a smile, and walked out the door.
After about 10 minutes of walking, Y/N and Wiiliam arrived at the coffee shop. It was quaint, a homey feel radiated about it. Tiny paper snowmen and Christmas trees were strung up against the windows. Larger paper snowflakes hung from the roof to match. Y/N and Wiiliam trudged over to a table, both numb from the cold, and sat. Y/N shifted in their seat, took off Wiiliam's trench coat, and handed it back. Wiiliam raised his foot, gripped the trench coat, and took it gently out of Y/N's hands. Y/N shifted in their seat, the plastic maroon seat cover still a bit chilly, and then settled.
"So" Y/N started. "How'd you find this place?"
Wiiliam laughed. A magical noise, low and intense, but also soft and tender. It made Y/N feel safe.
"A Craigslist ad. All good places are found like that, you know. I met the love of my life on there"
"Oh" Y/N's heart sank at the realization he was taken. "You're dating/married?" Y/N tried not to sound disappointed.
"Oh, no!" Wiiliam laughed again, and Y/N's heart melted at the sound. "I'm talking about my hairless cat!"
Y/N was relieved. They smiled in response. Before they could say anything, a waitress appeared.
"May I take your order?" She said warmly.
"Yes, I'd have a black coffee, please." Wiiliam politely stated. "And the they'dy will have...?"
"Surprise me!" Y/N grinned. The waitress nodded, and left, leaving Y/N alone with Wiiliam once more.
"So, I didn't catch your name" Wiiliam looked curiously at Y/N, waiting for their reply.
"Oh, it's Y/N"
"What a beautiful name"
They sat in silence for a bit. Y/N didn't want to blow this chance, no, not this time. They needed to make conversation. But what do you even ask the sexiest man alive? Y/N was sincerely surprised he wasn't a model, or, if he was, they were surprised they never heard about him until now. Wait, that's it!
"So... are you a model? I haven't heard about you until now" Y/N sheepishly said.
"Oh, yes, actually! I model for Nintendo from time to time"
Wow, Nintendo! Y/N looked at Wiiliam, the overhead lights from the cafe reflecting off of his plastic skin. He had a breathtaking sensor at the top of his head, and Y/N couldn't help but gaze into it, losing themself in it's beauty. His nine perfect buttons were barely visible, yet Y/N couldn't help but glance at those too. Wiiliam smiled, as he must've noticed Y/N gazing at him adoringly.
"Your coffees"
The waitress had returned, looking dead inside. Her bright blue eyes had no life to them, and her long blond hair was stringy and unwashed, such is the challenge of a minimum wage employee. She also looked at Y/N with jealously, probably wishing SHE was on a date with Wiiliam. She left, as Y/N picked up their warm coffee and blew on it. Wiiliam took a sip of his, his sensor opening up to reveal baleen like a whale. Dazzling! Y/N finally managed to take a sip of theirs as well, after it had cooled down, of course. Wiiliam seemed unconcerned at the temperature, however. Y/N downed their coffee quickly, not stopping to breathe even once.
"Wow, this is amazing! CRAIGSLIST is amazing! YOU'RE amazing!" Y/N exclaimed. The sudden burst of confidence pleasantly surprised Wiiliam.
"Well" he smirked (I think) "If you think I'm so amazing, join me for another date sometime?" He wrote his number down on an old, rather gross yellow sticky note he dug out of the depths of his trench coat and slid it towards Y/N. It had his number on it, Y/N excitedly realized.
"Of course!"
And so, Wiiliam walked Y/N home that night. Perhaps, this was the beginning of something more.
