You woke from the sound of children screaming at each other, from the other side of the thin door. You heard the brats screaming even from down here in the basement ,you heard them fighting and arguing. 'Sick..and..Tired..." You grumbled in your mind, rising from your bed only to slouch over and sluggishly grab your phone. Turning it on, you saw you had a few messages from your mom saying she was out at work and you would have to..babysit..the..GODDAMN CHILDREN..!. You squeezed your phone a little, seething at it.
Yes it was normal that you would babysit the little things, But you recalled from last night in the kitchen ,your sister, Tina, saying, "I picked up a double shift sooo, yeaaah.I won't be home till ten.". You would have respected that, if it weren't for the fact she was going to use the extra cash for her little "boyfriend".
When you first met the dude you never liked his vibes, He would always ask her to buy some bottles of tequila and head to his house. Most of the time leaving your mom and you to babysit.
No good, you shook your head.
Soon getting off your bed, walking to your bathroom. Grateful that your mother spared you and gave you the basement, who knows what would be happening to all your hair and whatever stuff if you were up there.
Brushing your teeth and washing your face, moisturizing it. You got dressed, soon styling your hair. When you were done, you slipped on your slippers and grabbed your phone. Placing your bluetooth beats around your neck and finally going up the stairs, making sure you grabbed your small black backpack this time.
When you got upstairs the kids seemed to be in the living room still screaming at each other, fighting on who gets to watch TV. You scoffed and then smiled a bit, knowing that all of them are grounded for the stunts they did the other day, to each other.Causing them to get all their electronics taken away and making them spend time together. Shaking your head softly you pulled your beats over your head and played your normal everyday playlist, which had a few..vulgar songs to say the least, songs that would most definitely have your great aunt shaking her head and praying to the lord for him to forgive your choices.
You chuckled softly...missing her. Music dragging you out of your darken thoughts that were about to wave over you, heading to the living room to get to the kitchen.
On your way your sister caught up next to you from down the hall, sighing quietly you placed your beats back around your neck and paused your song. Looking at her with a flat facial expression [This face (-_-)] while raising a brow , "Okay, chill, that face means I just all up and killed your vibe, but here me out," She sighed lightly, when she saw your face rest into its normal bitchy look she continued, "Just spend time with them and actually babysit this time," She requested. Soon adding "You might have a great time!".
You rolled your eyes slightly, looking away from her and straight ahead. Stepping over toys that she picked up right after.
Sighing, you said, "I make no promises, but I'll try." She smiled brightly, opening her mouth to say something but you quickly put a hand up. "But if they blow this ,somehow, I'll groan and complain everyday until you fix their behavior." You warned her, causing her smile to relax a bit. "Okay, sis." she giggled softly.
You both made it to the living room, walking in on your nephew and nieces. The Boy holding the remote high in the air from the two shorter girls. Duke, who was 12 and the only boy in the house, so he learned real quick about,,what females go through and learned to respect that. Tasha, 9 years old and a little too smart for her own good at times, tending to be the main one to fight with her older brother. Sabrina however was the one that made you hate babysitting them, due to her terrible behavior and she's only 8. Tasha and Sabrina were twins but they didn't look much alike so your sister didn't bother to give them identical names.
You quickly threw your beats back over your ears as your sister yelled a firm, "SIT YA'LL ASSES THE FUCK DOWN." Holding back your snickers as you see them quickly scramble to sit down on the couch, putting your beats back around your neck while continuing your way to the kitchen. Walking to the fridge you pulled out a chocolate protein shake and then walked back into the kitchen.
It seems like your sister went and got an old box with that brief moment of you being gone. "What's with that?" Duke asked, pointing to the box. You wondered the same as you lifted a brow and cracked open the seal of the protein shake, sipping on the smooth chocolate flavored beverage. "Somethin' you guys's great great grandma left just for her grandbabies and so on,or whatever." Tina stated then shrugged her shoulders, opening the box up and peering inside.
"Duke-" She started but quickly cut herself off, rethinking what she was about to say, soon turning to look at you. " Sis, this is some old stuff," she said, looking back into the box then back at you, "Ya gonna have to bust out the VHS player." You choked a little at what she said, 'Does mima want to bore the upcoming and new generations?" you grumbled more to yourself but your sister seemed to have heard, and shrugged in response.
Walking to the small storage closet not too far from the living room and opening it, rummaging around inside. Listening to Tina explain to the kids, that if they get out of hand that she won't hesitate to beat their asses when she gets back. That caused you to chuckle a bit as you found the VHS Player and pulled it out, walking into the living room and soon hooking the old video watching system to the TV.

Your sister went off to work. As you sat in the singled off recliner, the children lounged on the couches, Tasha and Sabrina on one and Duke on the other.
You explained to them a little about what a VHS is and gave the job to Tasha on switching out the tapes when one finished. After pressing play and the cartoon starting, you smiled a little. Remembering the colorful town of home, yes, you too had to watch this cartoon like some family legacy and you found the colorful cast of characters adorable. Yet, you forgot all their names, only remembering the name of the neighborhood which was called "Home" .
As the camera slowly zoomed into a little red house with a blue roof and a yellow chimney, you looked down at your phone and checked the time, realizing you never did since you've woken up. 12:25 P.M 'It's past noon already?!' you exclaimed in your head, you didn't realize you slept in all morning.
Damn you're going to have to cook up something quick that'll be the kids's lunch and tonight's dinner, "Alright dudes, I'm gonna go cook dinner, you guys, uh," You trailed off as you stood up, looking at them to see the girls already immersed into the show from the vibrant colors, "enjoy." You breath out a little, taken back a bit from Tasha and Sab already loving it. "K, chillo." Duke said, boredly watching the TV screen, already dozing off. You giggled softly, and turned towards the kitchen walking to it. Turning on the light once you got inside.
Unbeknownst to you that something was..watching your movements, up until you disappeared behind the wall into the kitchen.

Mima (is something I personally use for my grandmother or great grandma.)
Chillo (is just a nickname you go by in this book from your family.)
[You were adopted in this family btw just to let you know so,heh writing ideas.]
So after taking a long break from writing and running into new fandoms I decided to write this, I hope everyone likes this chapter. I'll post another one when the time is right, cya ~
