Hey! Thank you for reading my story. It was depressing, I know, but made up. This wasn't a real Holocaust story.
The reason the title is All the Unburied Ones is because the people burned in the crematoriums were thought to have been burned to ashes, but some weren't. Officer Ferthuie didn't like the idea of those bodies being burnt a second time, which was the reason he wanted them buried. He thought that they'd already been through enough Hell, and that even though they're dead, they shouldn't have to do it again. That they paid their price and deserved proper burial. He chose the main character and Haskel to do this job because they were young children who would've been burned in the crematorium as well as the other women and children, but they had no parents, and shouldn't die alone.
I will try to explain the pronunciations of the characters names, but my attempt may not be very good:
Ferthuie
(Fur - th - you)Dareth
(Dare - eth)Haskel
(H - ass - kell)Aqitou
(A - key - toe)Gybour
(Guy - bore)
