Jaden's POV

I WAS THINK ABOUT my sister, Andie Bell.

This whole thing just doesn't sit right with me.

'Andie went missing one night and then a few days later, they saw Sal Singh in the forest, near his school, with a plastic bag over his head. Dead. Hmmm Sal's case is definitely suicide. Oh! Andie's phone is on his body! Hmm. And there is Andie's blood under Sal's nails? Oh, then Sal murdered Andie Bell! Done! He's the killer.'

Like, no. It doesn't seem right. I know there was other evidence, but I just didn't want to believe it.

Sal was a very sweet boy and he always took care of Andie and me. He was the calm type. He didn't argue and just kept quiet. This is so out of place. You're telling me that Salil Singh is the murderer? The same boy who was kind with everyone? The same boy who always made sure I was eating well and I was in good health? The same boy who always wanted only the best for Andie and nothing else? The boy who was always there for me and reassured me that everything is going to be okay? The boy who-

Okay I think you get it.

And Andie's disappearance was very out of character. I mean sure, she would go out have a drink or two or maybe even more and spend the night at a friends house, without telling us, but disappear?! Just like that?

Well, she was supposed to go and take our parents from a restaurant or something, because they were very drunk. But she never picked them up.

And that..

..That was not Andie-like.

My mind was working at it's full speed, thinking of the many things that could have happened to her that night.

I took a bite off my sandwich.

What if-

I chocked on the food I was chewing, as I heard the door slam open, snapping me out of my thoughts. I quickly reach out to the glass of water sitting next to my plate and immediately took a sip. I clear my throat as I look over to see who came in.

"Hey Becca." I greet.

She looks angry??

"What happened?" I ask. She turned to me and sighed.

"Stanley's being a dick again."

I roll my eyes. I never liked him, to be honest. Stanley had a huge ego and that just annoyed me. He also treats me like a kid even though I'm nineteen. I really don't know what Becca sees in him. She could do much better.

"Of course he is."

Should I ask Becca about the whole thing?

"Hey, uhm.. this is, like, a very random question and I'm just curious, but uh.. who do you think actually killed Andie?" I hesitate and Becca stiffened.

"It was Sal, Jaden. It's obvious." She claimed, sitting across me, with her lips pressed in a thin line.

What if she's not actually dead?

"Yeah, but like- whatever." I stop myself mid- sentence. "Becca..?" I ask hushed.

"Hm?" She nodded her head at my direction, signaling me to continue.

"Do you actually even believe that Andie is dead? Since, you know.. they never found her body.. I mean.. she could still be out there somewhere. Slowly dying, but still conscious." I strated fiddling with my thumbs under the table.

I looked Becca dead in the eye and I knew she was about to cry.

"Jaden. It's been five years. Yes. She's dead and she's not coming back. I don't know, why you're asking me these absurd questions." She scoffed as she stood up and walked upstairs.
