Chapter 1: A Job for Two

It was a beautiful day in Magnolia. The sun was shining; yep, today would be a great day for a job.

Me and Plue stepped carefully along the waters edge as we headed to the guild.

"Careful blondie! You don't want to fall!" One of the guys in the boat called to me from the middle of the river.

"I won't!" I laughingly cheered back.

Thinking about what job I would take made me realize that I'll be needing some money for this month's rent.

Hopefully whichever I choose pays a bunch of money, but isn't too dangerous or time consuming. Those jobs that take forever (like the r-system thing ), become boring, and then it takes longer to finish. So maybe I should just-

"Oi, Lucy!"

I looked up. "Oh, hey Natsu!" I smiled.

"Whatcha up to?"

"I was thinking of what kind of job to take today."

"Well I was thinking-" he started.

"And who would come....." I interrupted.

"Luce-"

"Maybe Wendy? Or Erza? I dunno...."

"LUCY!" Natsu yelled, clearly frustrated.

"W-what?" I stammered.

"I already decided on a job and everything. Just meet me at the train station at noon, okay?" Natsu sighed.

"Aye sir!" I smiled. It was only ten thirty, so I had an hour and a half before I had to be there and I decided to spend it at the guild.

While sitting at the bar and drinking an iced tea I talked to Mira.

"Your not taking a job today Lucy? I thought your rent was coming up?"

"I kind of am," I said.

"You are? When, I didn't see you get one."

"Natsu got one, he said he 'planned out everything' for it so I'll be meeting him at noon."

"Awe how cute!" She giggled. "You two are adorable together!"

I felt my cheeks get hot. "Shut up Mira! We're not 'together' we're just friends!"

"Okay.... If you insist..."

"It's true!" I yelled.

Sorry it's not that long but it's only the first chapter.
