Chapter 1

"Hey super man" called out Alice to the little boy running across the road to go get the ball that he had dropped.

That's when she saw the car turn the corner and was heading for the boy. Alice took off running towards the little boy managing to push him out of the way before the car had hit him.

"You have to be more careful superman" whispered Alice to the boy as he clung on tightly to her shirt.

That's when a tall woman with straight red hair and brown eyes ran up to them and started thanked her for saving her child. The woman reached out and picked up the child that's when Alice noticed the birthmark on her left hand in the shape of a angle fish. At that moment Alice got up and hugged the lady who now had a shocked expression on her face. Feeling the lady stiffen under he touch Alice let go and took a step back.

"Sorry you probably don't remember me " said Alice as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear

The woman took a moment to analyze Alice all of a sudden the woman gasped and pulled her hands up to her face
"Alice?"she whispered before launching her self to hug Alice.

"Auntie Julie I never thought I'd see you again" said Alice hugging her tighter

They both let go Julie took a step back and looked Alice over
"You look just like your mother" Julie exclaimed

"Thank you" Alice replied "I thought you lived in L.A what are you doing In Alberta" Asked Alice surprise filling her voice

"I had a meeting and thought I'd take James with me" answered Julie

After a while of how are you's Alice looked down at her phone to see the time a rush of panic hit her

"Shit" Alice mumbled under her berth "I'm so sorry I really have to go" and with that slice took off in the direction of her house.

Finally Alice reached the front of her small house with the Grey siding falling off the grass brown and dead even the shingles where falling office roof and in the lawn. She slowly opened the screen door hoping it would not squeak and alert her father that she had been late coming home, unfortunately luck was not on her side once she hit inside and started walking towards the stairs her dad came out of the kitchen the smell of alcohol covered him q
from head to toe with every step he took he swayed a little.

"Your late young lady where have you been" he questioned in a groggy voice

"I saved a little boy from being hit by a car and the mom had to come over and talk to me" replied Alice telling the truth

"Well good for you but I told you not to talk to anyone " he said "NOW YOU FUCKING BITCH I'M GOING TO TEACH YOU A LESION" he screamed

Alice took a step back knowing what was about to happen next her dad's fist came rushing to her gut with power. Alice dropped to the floor with a thud she curled up in a ball struggling to breath. In a moment her dad started to kick her over and over before he finally pulled out a knife and slashed Alice's right arm and her stomach. Slowly her vision began to fade just before she blacked out she herd the knife kit the floor covered in blood.
