Final Selection takes place on Mount Fujikasane, where wisteria flowers bloom every season from the mountain's foot to its slope. The area around the mountaintop does not have any wisteria flowers and is infested with demons, which were caught alive and placed on the mountain by existing Demon Slayers. Since wisteria is poisonous to demons, they remain trapped inside the mountain and cannot leave. Most of the demons captured are relatively weak, and have only killed up to two or three people, presenting enough of a challenge for candidates to test their skills. However, there was one example of an abnormally strong demon that managed to kill and devour over fifty candidates for decades.
As you ascended the mountain, you made your way to an opening, where quite a few people had gather inside some Wisteria trees. Two people stood upon a podium, looking at all of the contestants. Suddenly, they spoke with emotionless voices,
"Good evening. Tonight, you have come to participate in the Demon Slayer Corps' Final Selection. We thank you for that."
"Here on Mount Fujikasane, there are multiple demons that have been captured and trapped by previous slayers. They cannot leave. This is because the Wisteria, which demons hate so much, grows here all year round."
"However from this point on, the Wisteria stops, thus there will be demons. You are to survive for seven days, before making your way back to us. If you can manage that, you will pass your trial and be accepted into the Demon Slayer Corps."
"Good luck. And now be on your way."
With that, Final Selection began. Would you run and hide from the demons, or kill them without mercy?
