“Wow,” you breathed as you looked around you. The journey up the mountainside had been tiring, but it was worth it.
The view from the temple grounds was breathtakingly beautiful. The once brilliant blue sky was now a deep purple, bringing out thousands of glittering stars. The sun was now replaced by the full moon that washed the world in its silvery glow. You closed your eyes as a gentle breeze lifted your hair, letting the silence of the approaching night calm you.
You would’ve been standing there for hours, soaking everything in had the guide not ushered you through the grand double doors made out of solid wood with iron-wrought handles.
Inside, the temple was just as beautiful as the outside. The dark wood was well-cleaned and adorned with gold decorations. Artefacts made of precious metals and stones decorated the place.
As you approached the heart of the temple, your eyes flooded with tears as you fell on your knees. Your heart warmed and you felt comforted.
You couldn’t explain what you were feeling as you lifted your eyes heavenward, towards the greater being up there.
