*Charlotte P.O.V*

"Mom, are you ready?"I call from down the stairs while struggling to manage my purple stuffed with clothes suitcase. It's already 3:45 and my plane leaves at 6:00 and we have a one and half hour drive to the airport.

"Charlotte! If you ask me that one more time I swear I'll just take twice as long!" My mom remarks.

"MOM! PLEASE HURRY UP WE ARE GOING TO MISS THE FLIGHT!" I yell at her mom while running up the stairs to see what was taking my mom so long.

"Hon,would you mind if I just sent Emma with you instead?" My mom inquires calmly.

"Really mom? You're seriously going to pull this when my flight leaves in two hours and if I don't leave in the next ten minutes I'm going to miss it? Of course I care." I retort.

"I already talked to Emma about it, and I already told your uncle that I would watch your cousin for the weekend. Her bag is already packed." My mother informs me.

This is the moment in which my hot-mess of a sister Emma decides is best to burst through the front door and yell at me to hurry my little ass up.I glared at Mom.

"I swear if she ruins my college tour I won't come home," I threaten.

"She wont ruin it! I imagine it would be better to be with your older sister than me." My mom claims.

"Whatever. Bye." I say while giving my mom a hug.

"Call me as soon as you can." my mom tells me.

I run down the stairs throw on a pair of fur lined moccasins grab my suitcase and rush out the door and into Emma's beat up old station wagon. As soon as I close the door the terrible scent of Emma's cheap perfume hits my nose.

"Ugh Em why do you wear thar shit?" I ask repulsed.

"Because I like it." Emma enforms me while attempting to back out of our driveway.

"Can you please hurry up? You know this is the most important college tour." I ask.

"I'm trying. And yes I do know but I don't even understand why Universty of Michigan is your first choice." Emma answers.

" I like the cold, and Michicgan is pretty," I inform Emma.

"Those aren't even good reasons!" Emma yells at me.

"Well at least I didn't stay home because I was "in love" with a boy who already broke up with me," I respond quickly referring to Em's highschool boyfriend.

"Hey, not fair I really thought Kyle was the one." Emma claims.

"That's what you say about all of them!"I retort.

Without a leg to stand on Emma just stops talking to me until we get to the airport. As soon as Emma parks the car I jump out of the station wagon and jerk my bag. Emma grabs her bag and we make a beeline for security and baggage check. After we finally get through those hassles Emma comes around and talks to me.

"We still have 30 minutes can we hit up the food court?" Emma begs.

"You can but I'm going to stay here," I answer.

"Ugh I don't wanna go alone,"Emma says annoyed and plops down in a chair next to me and pouts.

When they finally board the plane it's mostly empty so Emma asks if she can go sit by the cute stranger in the row behind us.To which I agree because my sister is getting on my last nerve.

I looks out the window out at the clouds and go over my schedule for the trip. First, hit the hotel and freshen up then get dinner. Second, check out the campus for a bit then head back the hotel for a shower and then bed. Third, wake up, get ready and then take advantage of the free breakfast served at the hotel.Fourth, check out the campus dorms, food and social scence. Fifth, eat dinner, go back to the hotel, go to bed. Sixth, get back on the plane and go home.

While lost in thought the pilot calls final approach and Emma returns to the seat next to me whispering something in my ear about not to wait up.

Always a slave to my plans as soon as I deboard the plane I grab my bag and get a cab to take me to the on campus hotel.

"The Brookshire Hotel please," I tell the cabbie.

"Ah The Brookshire, on campus right?" The cabbie asks while pulling out onto the street.

"Yeah, I am touring the campus so my parents figured an on campus hotel would be best since it's close,"I inform him.

"Okay." The cabbie says as he punches in an address on his GPS

I look out the window onto the snowy night Ann Arbor lanscape. It's so beautiful,I hope I get accepted to Universty of Michicgan. God, just thinking about it makes me so excited. Not only will I get out of the hell hole that is Havely, Missouri, I will be getting the fuck away from my annoying, rude, still telling all his friends I'm a slut because I wouldn't sleep with him ex-boyfriend; Luke who despite being a huge douchebag I'm still in love with. He's the first boy I ever loved, the first boy who ever showed any intrest in me. It's been 3 months and I'm still not over him.

"That'll be 15.35," The cabbie grumbles when we arrive at the hotel. I pull some cash out of my pocket and hand it to him. He gets out and grabs my suitcase out of the trunk and gestures for me to grab it. Once I grab my suitcase I head inside to the front desk where a disgruntled guest seems to be arguing with the front desk worker about how the ice machine isn't working.

"Ma'm I'm sorry we are doing all we can to fix it. If you would please just wait a bit I'm sure we can get you some ice." The employee tells her calmly. I have to hold my hand over my mouth to stop laughing because its utterly hilarious to see this college aged boy fighting with this middle aged lady about ice.

"Listen here boy, I need some ice now. Do you expect me to drink my pepsi without ice?" She asks him rudely.

"No M'am it's just we don't have any ice." He stumbles.

"Young man, I will be back at this front desk in 2 hours if I dont have ice by then I plan on writing a very rude review on this hotel on the inter webs." She threatens then walks towards the elevator to go back to her room.

"God, I'm sorry about your wait. It's just some of our guests are trying to get the most out of their stay." He apologizes rolling his eyes.

"It's fine. I just didn't know this hotel came with entertainment," I laugh.

"Well I'm Carter and I'm sure glad I could provide entertainment to such a pretty girl." Carter smiles. This boy is lucky that he's cute or I would report him to his manager.

"Uh thanks. I have a reservation for Statten." I blurt out. Of course I would say thanks, I wish I was less awkward. I should have said "you aren't too shabby yourself" but of course I said thanks.

"Okay you're in room 223. How many keys are you going to need?" He asks me. I wonder if Emma will text me when she wants to come to the hotel or if shes gonna stay the night with whatever dude she meets.

"Two but can you keep one here for my sister, she will probably come by later." I decide.

"Yeah but I get off in like 30 minutes so I'll just pass along the message to the night manager." He informs me.

"Okay thanks!" I thank him maybe a little too graciously. I start to walk away and go to my room when the dude has the nerve to stop me.

"Hey! Ms. Statten! When I get off I'm going to this party and I know this is so unprofessional but will you go with me?" He invites. Whaaaa? Is this dude for real? But if he is being serious I could probably carve out some time for him. I have never been to a party before. I've never had time to, I had to mantain a 3.85 GPA, do yearbook, student government, prom committee, AND deal with douchebag Luke.

"If you're being serious, Ok." I tell him. I hope this is the right choice. Hopefully he doesn't try to roofie me or something.

"Ok cool. So I'll just call up to your room when my shifts over then we can go." He informs me.

"See you in a bit" I say and then rush into the elevator into my room.
