Chapter 1★

Hi, my name is Mia. I've never really been the one to reach out until a night that changed my life forever.

Mia's pov:

I woke up to a loud alarm buzzing in my ear I hit snooze to make it shut up. Yay Monday. I thought to myself. I decided to take a peak at the calender. "Oh its my birthday..." I don't really care for my birthday anymore since what's the point? I got up and changed into a white dress with white sneakers and put my long red hair into a ponytail. Hey I like looking nice. I brushed my teeth and went down stairs quickly. 

I went to the coffee maker that never works but occasionally does surprisingly it didn't turn on. "Wow never saw that coming" I said sarcastically. I took out a bagel and put some butter on it. I ate it quickly so I can finally make it to school on time. I put on my white backpack and headed to school. Dad heads to work at five and I wake up at six so I just missed him. As for my mom well she died when I was two I don't have much memory since I was so young.

              ~time skip to end of the day~

My friend Charlotte I've known since diapers walked up to me. "Hey birthday girl!!" She said happily. "hey Charlotte!" I said back. "Here I got you something!!" She gave me a white box. When I opened it there was a teddy bear and all the pictures from when we were young. "Wow Char.... This is amazing thank you so much I'm so lucky to have a friend like you!" "Its nothin and I'm so lucky to have a friend like you!" She replied. "Ooh.." She said looking at a car. "I have to go see you tomorrow birthday girl!" she look away from me and then she disappeared.

                     ~Time skip to Mia's house~

I opened the door and saw my dad staring at me with party decorations everywhere. "SURPRISE!" he shouted. "Wow..dad you didn't have to do all this." I said while slightly giggling. He said back "I only got you one present I couldn't afford anything else" he said "dad its okay.." I said  "sooo what is it?" I asked. He took out a big box. I opened it and I saw a little creature with yellow fur and blonde hair it was wearing a with turtle neck with a pink dress with hello kitty's face on it over the turtle neck. And it was wearing a hello kitty hair clip. "What is this!?" I said in disbelief. "they call it a 'mogwai'" he said back "its your pet now its not from this world." He said "they come with many rules such as, don't shine light on her it will kill her never get her wet and never ever feed her after midnight." He said. I nodded and said "I think I call her Kaylee."
