A difficult awakening

Chapter 3: The Truth

 Type embraces Tharn during the whole trip, he is afraid to go to the other world if he lets go of Tharn. The car stops at a car park that Type doesn't recognise, where are they? The three friends get out and Type soon follows them, he feels it is important.

They leave the car park and find themselves in front of a building that Type does not recognise. He glances at his friends, but they can't answer him, they can't see him or hear him. When Type tries to follow them inside the building, an invisible force prevents him from doing so, he feels like he has a wall in front of him, a transparent wall.

Type tries for a few minutes to force the barrier, but nothing works, he can't get through. He runs around the building and touches the barrier to find a crack, but nothing. Type doesn't know what to do, he decides to wait for his friends in front of the building so as not to miss their exit. He just hopes he won't leave this world by then.

Type closes his eyes, he tries to guess what this building is, what is Tharn going to do there? Tharn... He would like to be at his side right now, his soul and his body, but it seems impossible now...

When Type reopens his eyes, he is no longer in front of the building, he is standing in a hospital corridor? He sees Tharn in front of him, so the building is a hospital, what is Tharn doing here? Type hurries to catch up with him, he doesn't want to lose sight of him. Tharn goes into a room, Type to his suite. Techno and Champ stays outside, he looks through a window at the inside of the room.

Tharn sits on a chair, Type takes advantage of this to look at who is in the bed... A small question: if his body is in this hospital bed, he is not dead, everyone agrees? So, who did Tharn go to visit at the cemetery? Lhong? But he saw him being taken away by the police, he had a car accident? So maybe it's not Lhong who died, maybe a member of Tharn's family? Techno and Champ came to join him there to go to the hospital together?

Tharn, on the other hand, brings the chair closer to the Type bed. He strokes Type's hair gently as if he was afraid of breaking it. Tharn tells him about his day, which Type already knows, he learns some names of Tharn's friends, whom he didn't know. Tharn seems to have already talked about some of them during his previous visits.

Type gets closer to the bed, maybe if he touches his body he will go back in? No, apparently it doesn't work like that. Type sighs how can he get back into his body as quickly as possible? He has to find a solution. Tharn continues talking, he talks about his visit to the cemetery: "I went to the cemetery today... It was an idea from 'No, to mourn a friendship. I went to symbolically bury the Lhong I knew. The Lhong who is in prison is not my best friend... I don't recognise him... He could have killed you, if I hadn't arrived in time... But if I had arrived earlier you wouldn't have been there, either. You'd be awake, with me in our flat, wouldn't you?"

Type listens to Tharn, so nobody died and especially not him, first integrated information. Second piece of information, Tharn blames himself, he blames himself for Type's situation, but it was Type himself who put himself in this situation, not Tharn. If there is someone to curse, it is Lhong!

Tharn continues to talk, his parents, Type's parents, came last week and should be back in Bangkok today. Tharn doesn't know if they will come to visit him today, he doesn't know what time they are landing. Tharn introduced himself as Type's roommate, they are no longer a couple, but he hopes that when Type wakes up, he will still want him. Type wants to hit Tharn's head for that, it's Type who should ask himself if he still deserves Tharn, it's him who hurt him, not the other way round.

Tharn recovers Type's hand, the one in the bed. He kisses it before whispering something incomprehensible to Type's ear, it gives the impression that he is praying. Type lies down next to himself, a strange sensation, before putting his hand on Tharn's hand, the one holding his body's hand. Tharn starts talking again about everything and nothing, Techno and Champ have joined him, Type falls asleep under Tharn's soft voice.
