A SEDUCTIVE REVENGE

CHAPTER 5

  Tears streamed down Cautious' face as he sat in Cooper Hospital waiting area with Nicki's family, praying and hoping that Nicki will pull through. On her way to work she got caught in a three way car accident. By a miracle, he was on his way to grab the newspaper and a pack of M&M's like he do every morning, when he spotted the accident and her car wretched in the middle. His natural instincts pulled her from the car and took her to the hospital because he knew the ambulance would have taken too long to come when they were only 2 minutes down the street. Not only was her life on the line, but their babies as well, and he couldn't lose them both. She is peace of mind, heart, family, everything that kept him balanced, she was his everything.

Thirty minutes later

A Hispanic Doctor entered the waiting area. Cautious quickly approached him.

"Doc, what's up, is she good, can I see her, I've been out here long as hell, what's good, tell me something, man?!" Cautious was panicking and scared. He couldn't take the fact of not knowing what was going on with her, it was driving him crazy.

The Doctor pulled the mask from over his mouth. "She pulled through, but it is in a very bad condition." Nicki family crowded the Doctor. "She has a broken pelvis bone, and collar bone, with blood clots in her lungs, a severe head injury with blood on her brain. She also had a few seizures, so be easy with her and try not to wake her."

Cautious and the family entered the room; he stared at the woman that he barely can recognize with gauze's wrapped around her head and tubes in her mouth. 'Dam.' He whispered in pain. He just wanted to hold her and make all the pain go away and heal her. He could just imagine the pain she was suffering from and wish she didn't have to. She was his world and only wanted her to feel the sweetness of bliss for her entire life. He wanted to pull her off of that machine and just take her home where she belonged. More tears streamed down his face the closer he got to the bed. He stared closer in on her face and noticed the bruises decorating her once flawless skin and beautiful face. He pulled a chair up to the bed, kissed her forehead, sat down and held her weak hand. Her hand twitched a bit. The Family surrounded the bed in tears.

"Shh, relax bae; it's me, just sleep." He heard a slight groan and grimace. "Relax baby." Cautious softly laid her hand back down and quickly headed to the door.

"What's wrong?" Her Mother asked.

"The baby." Cautious headed out of the room and found the Doctor in the hallway. "Doc, she's groaning and I want to know is the baby good?"

"The groans will occasionally be from the discomfort of the tubes, and I'm sorry to tell you about the baby, but she lost it during the process. Sorry"

Cautious felt like he was ready to faint. He cleared his throat. "Aight." He felt like he couldn't breath as he slowly headed back to the room with his head hung low. The pressure and pain weighed heavy on his heart. Tears danced down his face as he entered the room and stared at Nicki and just kept saying to himself 'Dam yo.'

"What happened bro?" One of Nicki's sisters asked.

"She lost the baby."

Everyone jaw dropped to the floor and stared shockingly at Cautious then to each other. They knew how long they were trying to have a baby and felt for him. Cautious stares begin to fade into his thoughts wondering 'How after all of these years of trying it finally came true and now it's taken away from them. is this from all the dirt I did to niggas? Dam. God, please forgive me.' Nicki groans broke his train of thoughts. He quickly glanced up at her. She was having a seizure. Cautious opened the door and yelled out to the doctors for their help. The Doctors rushed inside of the room and kicked the Family and Cautious out.
