A groan slips past Taehyun's lips as he rolls around the bed, trying to find some warmth. Specifically, his mate's warmth.

He whined when his hand came across an empty space and instead buried his face on the pillow that still has that rum and rose scent he always loved. He just wanted to drown in it every time.

Taking a huge lungful of his mate's scent, he rubbed his face on the pillow before grumpily sitting up to start his day. He really didn't want to move around a lot since his head is pounding and he really feels so comfortable on the bed. But upon remembering that he still has to go to work since he can't let his boyfriend do all the work for their living, he really needs to put in the effort.

He slowly walks towards the bathroom to do his business before going down to the kitchen to have his breakfast. When he entered the kitchen he saw a plate with the note in it. He immediately smiled, knowing from whom it was.

Good morning, my baby kitten, my honeybunch sweetheart honey pie, beautiful omega in the world! I made your favorite pancakes with maple syrup and strawberry on top. I'm sorry if I'm not beside you when you woke up but I was needed at work early. Please eat lots!! I love you so much <3

Taehyun shakes his head in fondness reading some pet names his boyfriend calls him, it was not even half of the pet names he's given him for every single day and he can't help the way his heart flutters with so much love for his alpha boyfriend. Beomgyu never fails to take care of him and always makes sure that he's showered with love and affection.

Ever since they started dating back when they were both in college, Beomgyu never ceased to shower him with compliments, always there to make him smile, willing to be his shoulder whenever life gets hard. He's Taehyun's safe place and comfort. Especially when Taehyun graduated and wanted to apply for a job immediately since he doesn't want Beomgyu to only work for them both. Although the older already had a stable job and can provide for them, he doesn't want to be a freeloader and give Beomgyu all the responsibilities just because he's an alpha.

That's what their society made them believe, that omegas should only be in their homes, waiting for their alphas, being obedient and so on. For Taehyun and Beomgyu, despite the sub-genders being alpha, omega, or beta, they should be treated equally. They're still their own person so they can do whatever they want as long as they still know their limitations and boundaries.

So in the first few weeks of job hunting for Taehyun, it was hard because he's an omega. Most of the establishments and businesses he tried applying were either homophobic or just toxic. Luckily, he was hired as an HR manager because of his skills and knowledge, which made him so happy he tackled Beomgyu when he received the email saying he was in.

After that, their life was much better and their relationship and love for each other has been striving every day.

Upon realizing how much they've come so far together and because of Beomgyu's note, Taehyun didn't even realize that he's crying. He badly wanna ugly cry because of the overwhelming emotion he's been feeling right there in the middle of the kitchen. He's not usually this emotional and he can control his emotions well, so he doesn't understand why he's getting emotional this early in the morning.

Wiping the tears on his cheeks, he gently put the note in his pocket, careful to not let it crumple. He ate his breakfast with a fond smile on his lips as he imagined Beomgyu putting a lot of effort making his breakfast. He can feel the sting of tears on the corner of his eyes again but he quickly holds it back before it can fall.
