"Fantastic job you've done brother, I thought the farmers wouldn't agree."
"Well this town needs a proper hospital for all, wealthy or not. It wouldn't hurt to build here, besides this is a barren land. Farmers call it the Dead Soil for a reason."
"Well, it sure ain't dead now.", Miss Dalia smiled as she handed out refreshments for the workers and people who arrived for the building ceremony.
It has been two weeks and Bible has been busy with regards to building of the new hospital accessible to everyone. He meant it for the greater good and also to at least help the townsfolk earn what they deserve instead of their tax money just wasted on selfish humans like Hare for example.
"Thank you dear Majesty, I never thought we'd be able to have medicine like this, we owe you a lot."
An elderly handed him a basket of apples and her granchildren gave him a flower crown.
He bend to match the child's height which Jak's heart feel all butterflies. But he quickly looked away and continued the game of tag with the kids.
"Your most welcome Ma'am, their Majesties helped allocating money for this and also..."
Jak was playing with children when Bible grabbed him away.
"This was all his idea.", having no clue whatsoever, Jak jist politely smiled and bowed to the elderly who went on their way.
" That was rude your Majesty, I was playing with the students. Cute flower crown, suits you."
"You're two faced you know that?", Bible gave a high five to one of the children before dragging Jak to the nearest shade.
"Really? What a surprise because you were really smug on me this days and now your holding my hand for the fourth time like you haven't avoided me. And what do you mean two faced? I only have a one handsome face in this world."
Jak winked and grabbed a piece of the fruit basket in Bible's hand.
Bible clenched his jaw and slammed the basket at the table, taking Jak by surprise that he felt a panic right through his body.
"You're not? You cry every fucking night and in the morning you're all smiles? We've lived in the same room for a month now and you haven't even told me anything at all. You're fucking pale... I'm worried. Goddammit."
There was a long pause as their eyes met...
Everything froze.
Bible took a step forward and held Jak's hands.
"What's the matter?"
He has been thankful that Bible became distant. And he hoped it would last until today. His urges for blood has been on the rise because tonight is the full moon.
He goes batshit crazy and he doesn't want to cause trouble or scare his mate away. He was suppose to be here to help Bible in case anything unwanted happens in the next four weeks.
Trouble is not what he wants and Bible's scent, his pheromones are causing his insides to panic that he feels his fangs coming out.
"I can't do this here, not now. Everyone's here, you're going to make a speech. I don't want to ruin this for you."
"Jesus Chrust! Please just tell me what's going on with you!"
Bible's clutching his hands tighter than ever and as much as he wants this to last, unless he eats something, Bible's going to be his meal.
"Bible listen... I-I'm sick... I need to go home and r-rest. Please I can't fight now."
He ran away from the crowd and ran as fast as he could.
He hates this...
He wants to be normal.
Jak just wanted to be a human.
He's tired of this hiding, consuming blood.
"Why am I like this! Why?"
He stared at his reflection on the river, letting his tears flow like the constant stream, he has no choice at least he can protect his Bible and not get him killed like their past life.
If he has to be a monster then so be it.
