Dear diary,

I guess I should start where I left off yesterday.

Cathy packed a few snacks and some water in a small red backpack with black straps. She wore a large black hoodie and blue jeans and kept her hair loose. Casual clothing for a casual outing.

As she came outside she tossed me a granola bar. I hate granola bars, and i'm 90 percent sure she knows this. As soon as she stepped outside herself I tossed the granola bar back at her. 'More for me I guess' She remarked, peeling back the wrapper and taking a large bite. I still don't understand how people enjoy that stuff.

The walk began as I expected. We marched through familiar streets, chattering about random things we saw on the way and how our new lives were going. We both complained about the boring class work schools usually gave, Cathy having more experience due to her lack of bunking.

After a while, Cathy had the bright idea of actually asking where we were going. In all honesty, I wasn't quite sure myself - but I couldn't just admit that. So I blurted out the first place that came to mind- ' Central London!'

Cathy looked surprised for a second before changing her expression to mild amusement. I could see her coming up with a snide remark, so I stopped her before she could judge me.

'There's a train station nearby, I have some money and an Oyster card as well as a credit card - which your can use' I explained, feigning confidence

'Alright' She responded, not expecting my quick thinking.

So we continued along the road until we reached train station, tapping out cards and checking the train routes. Most of the map looks like confusing gibberish and a mess of overlapping lines, so I let Cathy figure it out. You could probably call those maps abstract art and put them up in a gallery.

She managed to find a route soon enough and we waited for a few minutes before boarding an extremely crowded train. I had to stand clinging onto a pole, vomit creeping into my mouth. I could barely say a word as I stood there, clinging onto a pole for dear life.

After a while (which felt like forever) we got off and got onto some other train. Luckily, this one wasn't as crowded. Cathy teased me about my motion sickness while the train was screeching along the narrow, dark tunnels - which, admittedly, helped get my mind off of actually being motion sick. Finally, we got off at (I believe) King's cross and began walking again.

I was pretty hungry by then so we stopped at a random restaurant and got ourselves some fish and chips (with my money). The chips were a tad bit salty, but the rest was pretty good. There were no words exchanged whilst we scarfed down that food.

After that we continued our walk, chattering about random things we saw like before.

For a while, it was just a calm walk. That was until we reached a picturesque street. As you saw in the previous entry, I painted a cobbled street in one of your pages. I accidentally brought acrylics instead of watercolour... you saw the results.

Whilst I painted, Cathy began talking about random ghost stories she'd heard. It was unexpected, but I didn't mind. When she saw the final result, she picked apart the wonky lines, teasing me about my 'incredible' acrylic skills. I teased her about her singing and we fell into playful banter, leaving the bench and continuing our walk.

Eventually, we reached a group of four buildings- a place that I was determined to draw. Cathy suggested going to the top of the fourth building, where there was a restaurant where we could have dinner at. (Authors note: I have absolutely no idea what is in the building the reference photo was taken from- just pretend that it's a restaurant on the top floor)

Our dinner was some sausages and mash- the cheapest option available. Cathy offered to pay for some before remembering she hadn't brought any money. You can guess who paid from that information. Whilst we waited for the food to arrive, I began to draw the buildings around. I continued while I ate the food and some time after as well. Cathy kept me entertained by telling me the stories of her favourite tv shows and movies (there were a lot and I do not remember any of them). There were loads of tiny details I omitted and/or largely simplified, and I left out a lot of the buildings surrounding the main three that I drew, but I still think it turned out okay. Cathy didn't pass any snide remarks this time. You can see the drawing above.

After that, we headed home through another 2 gruelling train rides (the stations we left from were at the 4 buildings and some random area in between.)

Cathy went back to her house from the local train station and I went back to the fosters.

From there it was straight to bed and writing in you (the fosters called me down mid writing, and I was too tired to finish)

It is now morning as I finish this.
