Top 18: Jet Black Force Quirk

"Hmm, what's this? I can't hear you. Mind saying that again?"

Kusuo scowls, looking at his TV screen. How much he didn't want to do this, can you guess? But this isn't about his pride. It's about Kaidou. "I need your help."

"My help?" Kusuke asks in mock surprise, placing a hand over his heart. Oh how Kusuo would love to rip the almost inexistent heart of his brother out of his chest. He could. He really could. "Oh, you know I'm just messing! So what's up?"

Kusuo explains the situation, in the meanwhile Kusuke's amused smile slowly morphing of that that is thinking. Hopefully he would try to actually help him. Even if Kusuo thinks it's not ideal. "I see..." Kusuke says, thoughtful, "I'll be there by morning to see what I can do. Okay, little bro?" He smiles.

"Whatever." Kusuo deadpans before turning off the call. He heaves a sigh. This is going to be much less simple than he would've liked, isn't it? Good grief.

The kid is... a little problematic, to say the least. A problem child, if you will. The address he gave to the police officers for them to send him home was nonexistent and the phone number he claimed was his mother's definitely wasn't hers, if the irritated old man cursing up a storm through the speaker was anything to go by. Even the school the uniform he was wearing belonged to was of one that doesn't exist.

In the lights of the street, the gunk that covered the boy's clothes and face, the tear tracks and dried vomit stood out more prominently and it was no wonder then that he smelled like absolute trash. They wanted to question him about the villain that had just attacked him but with the state the boy was in they thought it would be better if they let him rest and get back to them later. Problem is, with no address or anyone to pick him up, he doesn't have a place to return to. And they weren't going to just leave him there.

In the end, they decided to bring him to police station, to figure things out from there, but the boy— whom said his name was Kaidou— announced that he wouldn't be going anywhere unless Shota came with him. When they said that Shota had better things to do, like being an underground hero for example, the boy started crying again so against his better judgment, Shota accompanied him. Which the boy was very happy about apparently, going off by his brightened face. Brat.

So here they are. At the police station. "Alright, Kaidou," Detective Tsukauchi smiled kindly at the now serious looking teen. Or at least trying to look serious. "I'm going to ask you a few questions and you'll answer, okay? We just want to return you home safely, alright?"

"Yes sir!" Kaidou answers from his seat across the detective's table, Shota on his side. He was sitting quite professionally stiff, even, and acting more maturely than Shota had expected him to, considering the crying fest he gave in the cop car. Surprisingly, he treated them with respect, which is a thing lot of kids especially at his age neglect to do. At least some parents are teaching their children manners.

"Just so you know— I have a Quirk that lets me know when a person is lying, so keep that in mind."

"Sorry to interrupt you, sir, but can you please clarify what 'Quirk' is? I've heard that term multiple times since the afternoon, but I've never learned its definition before."

Tsukauchi stills in his seat, looking at the teal haired teen, "Ah..."

Shota raises his head from where it was resting on his palms, raising an eyebrow at the other man who seemed contemplated, "Is he saying the truth?" he asks skeptically.

"Yes... well, all you need to know is that I can tell when you're lying or not."

"Oh. Okay..." the boy mumbles, seeming embarrassed from what he doesn't understand.
