(F/n)'s pov

"(F/n) dear, what are you doing now? Didn't I tell you to stop sulking in your room all the time?"

"I'm not sulking, sister. I told you I'm writing something important."

I've been drafting and sketching a lot on my notebook that I didn't recognize the hazy sunset that was passing out of the window of my room. It was my parents' favourite time before they were gone. I kept thinking about them so much that I couldn't feel them in me anymore. I hate the fact that I was the only one that survived. If it were my parents then-

"(F/n)!!!"

I snapped back from my thoughts when the sister of the orphanage I'm in told me to come out. I lazily dragged my feet out and went to the garden to do some stretches since they don't want me in my room. I watched the other kids as they ran around and played with each other. It was heart warming to see them have fun instead of being bullied by others and feeling discriminated.

Being the oldest one here, I always looked after them when things got tough. Don't take me wrong, I'm not saying their incapable, but it has always been a problem to be born quirkless. Not to mention, it takes an enormous tole on kids to know that.

On my behalf, I accepted being quirkless as a part of me so I don't really mind. Besides, I get extra time to focus on my inventions. That's right, I am an inventor. Gear, toys, guns, games, you name them: I make them.

I always dreamed of becoming a hero , but everyone said that I needed a quirk for that. No way I'd never believe in those people's words. I know a can become a hero without a quirk. That's why I was determined to go to UA next year. I know I'm able to do a lot of things with UA supporting me so I took the written exam with the aid of my orphanage, which I'll undoubtedly pass with flying colors. For the practical exam, they removed the rule that stated quirkless people can't participate. So I'll give it my all in the exam and be sure to pass.

~exam day~

It wasn't such a horrible morning to say the least. I woke up, showered, ate my breakfast and left for UA. It was an ENORMOUS campus! I thought I'd lose my way in and out of here. I went to the large room where the introduction took place. There wasn't anything special to the exam except for destroying robots (pathetic, it could be easily done). Luckily I anticipated this scenario and brought tiny bombs that work for this model which was relatively easy to make. I went to my battle stadium "D". There weren't any people that I would recognize so no one knew I was quirkless.

After the short bus ride I hopped off the bus and made a run for the stadium. Other students following shortly after. After a minute I was encountered by 3- 2 pointers, which I easily took out (they really need to hide the off button better). Just 5 minutes, and I already passed the 60 point margin. I kept going for a while when I got bored. Soon enough, the giant 0 pointer showed up. All we had to do was melt a single socket which wasn't very hard. I ran to the robot cautiously, making sure it didn't see me. That's when I noticed a pink girl being held by the robot. I knew I  wasn't able to help her at the moment but-

My legs surely moved on their own and before I knew it, I was running to the robot with no care what so ever.

" Hey! Can you hear me!?"
"Yeah! Can you help me down, please!?"
"Hold on for a moment. I'll be back!"

And with that I started climbing Mt. Metal to find a plug which was near the girl. Soon I reached there, but then realized I had nothing to help me plug it out. The pink girl, who's name is Mina Ashido, called out to me.

"What are you doing!?"

"I need to plug this out or cut it, but I have nothing to help me do that!"

"I'll melt it. I can creat acid!"

I pulled the wire out and handed it to her. When she caught it, it melted down and the robot stoped in it's place. I helped Ashido out and we both went down. Right when I thought I could score some extra points the time was up. I was heading out when I was stopped by Ashido.

"Thank you so much for helping me out there! You were amaizing!"

"Really? I don't know?"

"Say, what's your quirk?"

"I'm quirkless."

I don't think she believed me because she immediately started laughing sarcastically and saying I was lying. After a long walk while heading home I was able to convince her. She was absolutely stunned, to say the truth. After parting with her at the station I walked back to the orphanage. I went to my room without anything else and slept the night away.
