Its been exactly a month since the incident.I laid in bed and stared at the star decorated ceiling in my new room.There was silence all around me.This was the time he would have been on my bed jumping on me waking me up and telling me about his dreams of being king Arthur and all his adventures with his excaliber.The silence around me is a contant reminder that hes no more.A single tear escaped my eye.I wiped it with the back of my hand and dragged myself from the bed to get myself ready for my first day at school. I freshened up and put on a knee lenght flowered dress and tied my brownhair in a pony tail. Makes arent really my thing. I put on my flats and headed for the kitchen where my dad was making breakfast. He looked like he didnt get much sleep either. I sat down on the stool beside the breakfast bar.
"Morning sunshine. Ready for school?" He asked immediately i sat down and kissed my forehead.
"Somehow" i answered truthfully. I knew changing school was for the best. Back at my old school everyone started giving me the pity looks and i just couldnt stand it. He served me my breakfast, scrambled eggs. I ate in silence.
" Done." I drained my glass of orange juice and picked up my bag. I was already late for school.
"See you later dad!" I rushed out of the house. Its a few minutes walk from my house to my new school. I went to the administration to pick up my time table since my dad already sent my transcript a week ago.
"Good morning" i greeted the women at a desk with her eyes on the laptop she was working on. I noticed the principals office was right behind her. She looked up from her laptop and smiled at me.
"You must be Candice.Candice Morgan right?" She asked.
"Um yeah"
She pulled out a bunch of papers from her filing cabinet.
" Everything you need is in there." She handed the papers to me.
"Thanks" i put on the best smile i could muster.
"Welcome to Hudson High School.hope you enjoy your stay"
"Me too" i muttered to myself and gave a silent nod to her. First lesson i bad was history. I sighed and looked for my classroom from the map i was given. I stood outside my new classroom for a minute before entering. Everyone seem to be laughing at what the teacher said or did. All eyes turned to me and the laughs died down. I had my chit to the teacher.
"Candice Morgan" he read out."take your seat and welcome to Hudson by the way". I looked around for an empty seat and found one at the back.perfect. i walked to it and sat down.
"Ok class back to what we were doing" he said drawing the attention back to him and went on with his teaching. I felt someones eyes on me from my sides. I turned and my honey brown eyes met with a pair of forest green eyes. He stared. I stared. Then i looked away because he was starting to creep me out. I felt his eyes on me for sometime and he looked finally looked away. I turned my attention back to the teacher. Seriously i dont even get why we do history what happened to letting the past stay in the past. I was thrilled when it was time for lunch. Not that i was starvin but because i was tired of introducing myself to evevy class i go. It was exhausting. I was in the queue for my lunch when i heard someone screamed my name. I turned only to me engolved in a hug.
"Candice i am so happy to see you. Mum told me you would be coming here i didnt know it was today." She said delightedly. Her hazel eyes shone with excitement. She was wearing her cheerleading outfit with HHS boldly written across her top. Amber has always been the cheerful kid in my extended family.
"Yeah me neither. I already missed two weeks of school my dad said i should come today.
"Hows uncle George? Mum and i planned to come see you guys today"
"Better i guess." I moved forward for my food with my tray while she followed me with hers. I looked around for an empty seat and found one in the corner everyone seemed to be avoiding.
"Come sit with us." She said and pointed to a table full of cheerleaders and jocks.so not my type of crowd.
"Nah thanks i already have a place to sit."
"Alright. See you around then" she shrugged and walked to her table. Maybe a month ago i would have jumped at the offer but not now. Right now i want a social free life and less crowd. I dont even have the strenght to pretend to be nice to anyone now. I sighed and sat at the empty table. I got few stares from people around me but i ignored them. I set my lunch on the table humburger with vanila coke and an apple. I was about to take a bite when i heard someone speak.
"You are in my seat." I raised my head to see creepy guy from spanish class.
