4 years later...

Ja'Mylah POV

Its been 4 years since my mom died. I didn't know how to feel. When I found out the news. It was hell.

FLASHBACK...

Chris and I went to the hospital where my mom was at. We sat in the lobby waiting. I know she's dead. I can feel it. There's no point of living anymore. I lost my mom. She's gone man.

"Family of Kathy Washington?" He asked looking around.

I stood up so quick.

"I'm sorry mam. She di-"

"Don't even finish the sentence," I said walking out the hospital.

I went straight in my car and cried my eyes out. I'm all alone. I just want to died. I went in my glove compartment and grabbed my gun and aimed it to my head.

"I'm comin' momma." I said about to pull the trigger.

Chris snatched the gun out my hand.

"What the hell is your problem?" He said looking at the gun.

"I wanted to meet my mom," I said looking at him crying.

"Your mom doesn't want you like this Ja'Mylah. Get out the car now and go see your mother," Chris said yelling at me.

"I can't."

"I just can't Chris. I can't look at her like that."

"I'll be with you every step of the way."

END OF FLASHBACK...

And when Chris said he was going to be with me every step of the way. He was right. He helped me a lot. He took me to therapy. I still go to this day. Chris is a really great guy. We're not together. We are just good friends.

"Ja'Mylah did you hear anything I just said?" The professor said looking at me.

"No sir, can you repeat it please repeat it again."

"What is human behavior?"

"Human behavior refers to the array of every physical action and observable emotion associated with individuals, as well as the human race as a whole. Some behavior changes with age," I said looking at my notes.

"Good job."

He kept going on and on about human behavior. I was taking my notes. I stopped taking notes and looked off into space. My professor looked at me. I went back to writing my notes. He went to his desk and wrote something down. He put it on my desk. I opened it up.

See me after class

I nodded my head and continue writing my notes. I didn't feel like looking in my book so I just went to google looking for each word. The bell rang signaling class was over. I walked over to my professor's desk.

"Are you ok?" My professor asked taking his glasses off.

"Yeah I'm fine."

"You sure? If you need someone to talk to, you can talk to me."

"Thank you but I'm fine."

I looked at the time.

"I have to go to work Mr.Palmer."

I grabbed my things and left outta class. I put my books in the passenger seat and got in the drivers seat. Luckily I don't have class tomorrow. I will be able to study all day. We have a test Wednesday. I have work in two hours so I drove to my apartment. I got out the car and went inside. I took a shower and wrapped the towel around me. I went in my closet looking for something to wear. I work at Hollister so I can wear what I want. I put my clothes on and searched on my dresser for my name tag. I put it on and grabbed my keys. It was only 4:47. I don't have to get to work until 6. I drove to the mall and parked. I went to the food court and went to subway. I got white bread with ham, cheese, bacon, grilled with mayo and pickles. I got 3 macadamia nut cookies, some bbq chips, and a lemonade. I went sit down at a table and ate my food. I haven't ate since this morning. I put bbq chips on my sandwich. I was just about to take a bite into my food but was interrupted by my phone ringing. I looked at the Caller ID. Chris❤️

"Yes," I said answering the phone.

"Where are you?" Chris asked.

"At the mall," I said taking a bite into my sandwich.

"With whom?"

"I'm by myself. I'm eating before I go to work."

"Oh ok. I was just checking up on you. How was your day?"

"It was good. My professor kept me after class."

"Why?"

I told him what happen.

"When do you go back to see your therapist?"

"Tomorrow."

"You better go."

"I will Chris. Stop being so over protective."

"Your like a lil sister to me. I'm going to protect you."

"I know I know. I gotta go. It's almost time for me to go to work."

"Alright. Love you."

"Love you too," I said hanging up. I grabbed my cookies and my lemonade. I threw my trash away and started making my way to Hollister. I passed Body Central and seen this cute shirt. I have to have it. I'll be back. I walked into Hollister and went to work.
