'Fucking God' Touya thought for the umpteenth time when the man sitting next to him snored harder, his mouth ajar, completely oblivious to the homicidal instincts rising inside the not very collected passenger on seat 29D, debating if it was worth it being arrested from the border police for murdering an innocent with a plastic fork. It was either that, or he might as well eject himself out of a plane flying at 780 km/h.
He bumped his nape against his hearest and sighed loudly, cursing himself for leaving his earbuds at the hotel. If he could just blast his music at top volume against his eardrums, he wouldn't have to endure this torture. It had only been half an hour since take off, but the stranger had fallen fast asleep as soon as they'd reached the cruising altitude, and it was still two and a half hours until they landed in Frankfurt.
Then the grown ass man turned slightly to his side, almost snuggling up to him, and Touya debated with himself if he'd ever wanted to die more. Maybe not, maybe only in his teenage years.
Why him. Why not book the flight to London instead of choosing Germany as a stop-over just to save some money? Next time he'd be flying in first class, that's for sure.
"Psst, hey"
He was praying to whatever God whose land they were flying through right now to make him at least faint when a voice called him, a hushed tone from his left. Across the narrow aisle of the plane he saw a young man, reading glasses pushed on top of his ash blonde bird-like nest of hair, and a pair of honestly stunning almond honey-hazel eyes. Touya lifted a brow, hoping Blondie wouldn't mock him for his bad luck, and for once it seemed someone heard his pleading.
"I'm sorry, I noticed you don't seem very comfortable over there" he began, almost embarrassed. "But the seat next to me is empty, if you want to-"
"Deal. Scoot over" Touya immediately said. If the universe had decided to concede him this salvation, he wouldn't ignore it.
The stranger whisper-laughed as he moved to the central seat and placed his bag under his feet, leaving room for Touya to settle in.
"Thank you" Touya huffed, sincerely grateful for the stranger's help. He could still hear the snoring, but at least he wasn't being used as a pillow anymore.
"Don't mention it". Blondie still had that smile on his face, like he was actually amused by the situation. "Besides, he's so loud I can't focus on my reading, so I thought I might as well kill some time talking to someone, if you don't mind"
"Not at all" Touya replied, relieved. "I left my earphones in my hotel room, I could very much use some conversation". Which he usually wouldn't be very inclined to, but he had limited options here.
"Oh man, tough luck. Really, I'm sorry, it sucks. Hope Frankfurt is your final destination, given this start maybe it's best for you if you stopped there"
Touya sighed dramatically, relaxing in his small economy class seat.
"I wish it was" he groaned, looking at the symbols on the ceiling of the aircraft. "I need to take another plane to Tokyo afterwards... If I end up seating next to another snoring man, I swear to God I'll burn down the plane and take a parachute 'till the end of the journey"
Blondie laughed again, and Touya's eyes got drawn to him. He noticed his eyes crinkled at the edge when he did, lighting up his entire expression.
"No way! I have a flight to Tokyo too later on, so maybe don't try the fire thing, please."
