Oliver said while rubbing his eyes and getting out of bed. Good go get ready for school hurry up you don't wanna be late on the first day Olivers mother said from the kitchen. Oliver walks to the bathroom and begins to brush his teeth. as he brushed his teeth, he's looking at himself in the mirror, and he begins to think. what's the point of school? Everybody always goes to school and have fun and makes new friends and make new memories and wear the new with bellbottoms and their Afros and shag hairstyles meanwhile, I'm just here in the back all alone same stuff different day. Oliver thought to himself. I wish I was cool like Josie and the pussycats. Oliver breakfast is ready! Oliver's mom called from the kitchen. coming! Oliver responded. I hate having to go to school. I can never have fun like Rolling Stone said I can't get no satisfaction. I wish I was like Josie and the pussycat dolls, or Archie and his gang. They're so cool and they live the best life's. Oliver begins to daydream about traveling the world and performing like he's a part of those bands. Stop daydreaming and Hurry up. Oliver gets dressed , and sit down at the table with his mother. mom, do you think I'm different? no why would you say such a thing? Oliver's mother said. well it's just that I never really make any friends and I'm always alone. Oliver look at the life you're living. you go to a top-notch school and you live in a wealthy neighborhood and a wealthy home you're not different if anything you're special and I want you to stay how you are and continue to be unapologetically you .Oliver's mother kisses him on his forehead and rubs his hair now come on you don't want to be late for your first day. meanwhile, on the opposite side of town. ASHER!!!! Get your ass up and go to school. Asher's dad said. I don't feel like going to this new school is too proper and pretty. I'm gonna go back to my old school Asher said very angrily. Well it don't matter what you want. Your mother said you should move to this new school That way you could have the same opportunity as some of these other rich people and you can help us move near that part of town Asher's dad said. Whatever Asher said, rolling his eyes and walking out of the door. On your way home. Stop by CVS and pick me up some new cigarettes Ashers dad said. Asher pulled out his cassette and headphones, and started listening to AC/DC while walking to school. meanwhile, Oliver and his mothers car arrive at the school. Why did you stop right here the school is further down the sidewalk Oliver said. yeah but it's your first day, and nobody wants to be seen with their mother Oliver's mother jokingly said. I'll just watch you walk from here. OK mom I love you Oliver said. Both Oliver and his mother get out the car and a hug before Oliver begins walking the rest of the way to school. Oliver's mother sits on the hood of her car watching how her son is growing up so fast.

Oliver walks through the school doors, and he accidentally bumped into a boy .watch where you're going dork Terry said while pushing Oliver to the ground, I don't wanna be touched by a jughead like you! Oliver falls down in his bag opens, and his school supplies scatter on the ground. sucks to be you Terry says laughing and walking off. Oliver begins to pick up his stuff. I just walked through the doors and I'm already being picked on this year is going to be exactly like the others Oliver says to himself. I wish I can stand up for myself and make Terry stop picking on me Oliver says in his mind. are you OK? Do you need some help? An unfamiliar voice said from above. Oliver looks up to see an unfamiliar face looking down at him. Sure Oliver said. I am Floyd. What's your name? I am Oliver. Oliver responded. Are you OK? That guy seems like a jerk. Oliver looks at Floyd. You must be new here. I am, how did you know that Floyd says? Because that's Terry he's like the biggest jerk and bully in the school. Everyone knows that. So he always acts like that Floyd asks, with his voice starting to shake in fear. Yeah, pretty much I always just ignore it Oliver said. But don't worry since you're new he's not gonna pick on you as fast as he would pick on anyone else. Well, that's comforting Floyd said while continuing to pick up Oliver's stuff. Floyd grabs Oliver's folder. Do you like Josie and the pussycats? Floyd asks with a confused look yeah I love them. I wanna be just like them when I grow up Oliver says. I love them too. They're literally one of my favorites right now. Floyd responded both of their faces light up as they look at each other I think we're gonna be good friends Oliver said. I think so too. Floyd responded. The hallway bells begin to ring. oh class is about to start what class do you take Oliver asked I take class A1 Floyd responded. Great we take the same class together. Follow me I'll show you where it is. Oliver said excitingly. The two boys make it to class, and they both sit down in desks by each other. now that everyone is all here, I will begin to take roll when I say your name say here or present, and I want no funny business from you this year Terry the teacher said. he takes this class too? Floyd asks Oliver in a nervous way I guess so Oliver responded . Wait, don't start without me a voice called out from the hallway. And who might you be the teacher asked in a curious manner. My name is Asher. The student responded. Pleased to meet you. You may take a seat now, sir the teacher said. ASHER!! I haven't seen you in years. Terry said very loudly. The two boys shake hands and greet each other. Y'all are friends the teacher asked. Yeah me and Asher go way back since summer of 66 terry responded oh well, this is going to be a challenging school year. the teacher said to herself. There's two of them Floyd asks Oliver. I guess it's double the trouble this year Oliver responded. The teacher begins to call names and take roll. Suzanne? Here Suzanne responded. Floyd? Here Floyd responded. Asher? Here Asher responded. I don't even know Asher and he's already laughing at me Oliver said to himself. OK guys we are going to do an icebreaker activity. I will match two of you up as partners and y'all will come up to the front of the class and begin to say some interesting facts about y'all self so we can all get to know each other. my first pair that I'm putting up is Oliver and Asher the teacher said. Asher begins to walk up to the front of the class nonchalantly. Oliver begins to walk to the front of the class nervously. Don't say anything weird don't say anything stupid don't make it obvious you're a nerd Oliver said it to himself. While Oliver is walking to the front of the classroom Terry trips Oliver and Oliver begins to fall. Right on time Asher catches Oliver he falls in Asher's arms and he feel so warm and comfy Oliver's heart starts beating like a drum and Oliver looks up in their faces are right in front of each other. Thank you for catching me. Oliver says softly to Asher. Asher begins to smirk. Don't worry about it. their eyes meet and they glaring at each other Oliver begins to smile and blush. I'M WAITING the teacher says. Oliver immediately jumps out of Ashers arms and gets himself together. While trying to stop blushing in front of the class.
