Chapter 25: And We All Lived Happily Ever After, or Did We?

The weeks passed by and we all got into a rhythm. Believe it or not, Bane fit into my little harem, as Alex likes to call it, quite well. He also loved gloating that the first baby was his. I might have slapped him once or twice to get him to stop bragging, especially as it got harder and harder to move around with my gigantic belly.

I was relaxing by the pool, trying to ignore the violent rib kicks, when I felt the first contraction. Holy Crap on a stick, this hurt. I need to call my boys over here stat. Just as I am about to yell bloody murder, a hand covers my mouth. You have got to be kidding me!

I tip my head back to look behind me and see five mostly naked men behind me. Nope. This harem is closed. Three is more than enough. I am no longer accepting applications.

One of the mysterious naked men finally starts talking. "If you promise not to scream, I will remove my hand. We just have a couple questions."

I nod. I don't mind lying to a bunch of potential kidnappers . Another guy with ink black hair steps forward. "We are looking for our betrothed. She ran away from home a couple of months ago and we finally traced her to here."

A bad feeling starts twisting in my gut.

"We are looking for Raya. She has been promised to me and my brothers since birth."

I'm about to respond when another contraction rolls through my stomach. I breath through it, squinting my eyes closed. Finally, it is over and I open my eyes. Making eye contact with each naked man mermaid, I breathe out a sigh.

"You guys are too late in multiple ways."

I think one of them just growled at me, but I am used to growly men so I just ignore that. "Raya wanted to leave the fae word behind. It seems to me that maybe she was not excited to marry you guys and become a little mermaid breeding machine. Also, she already found herself a new hunk and moved in with him," I say with a gloating smile.

In a flash, the redhead moved and a very rusty knife was held at my stomach. Oh, hell no!

I glared right back at him. How dare he threaten my unborn child. I open my mouth to yell bloody murder, but the black haired one reminds me, "I wouldn't be reckless right now if I was you. Jamil can gut you before you finish screaming for help." 

I grit my teeth in response. "No wonder she wanted away from you guys," I snark back.

I see something flash in his eyes, maybe sadness, before it is gone. "Regardless, we need to find her. If you tell us where she went, we will leave and not harm you."

"On one condition, you promise not to harm her," they nod. "And," I continue, "you listen to what she has to say and consider her happiness."

After a second, I see hesitant nods from all of the men. "Okay," I breathe," I don't know the location exactly, but she went to Luther Knight's wolf pack."

In the next second, they are gone. I send a little prayer for Raya and Luther. Hopefully, they can deal with the storm that is headed their way.

Another contraction rolls through me. I take a breath and then yell for my men. The next couple hours seem to blur together in a haze of pain, yelling, and breathing. Before I know it, A naked baby is on my chest and love fills my heart.

I gaze at the perfect little baby I made. Wow I'm amazing. Valen, Leo, and Bane are all around me and it's like everything has clicked into place. I was on a crazy journey but now I know exactly where I should be.

"I'm next," Valen says.

"Don't make me kill you," I utter with a smile.
