In this chapter, I am going to go over places that are good for finding mushrooms and which mushrooms grow in which season.
Any forest will do.
Literally, as long as you are in a forest, there will be mushrooms. All the detritus and gunk on the forest floor are a perfect habitat for mushrooms to grow. So keep an eye out! In every single YouTube video I've ever watched about mushrooms, the people are always in a forest. This means I have probably crushed all of your dreams because face it, if you live in a city, you probably won't be seeing any mushrooms.
I stand corrected.
But for the most part, mushrooms don't grow on sidewalks. So if you want to find these sneaky saprophytes, you have to go into deep wilderness. I know most of you- even me too!- are not living in the middle of the woods. So you might want to take a quick trip to the nearest forest. But when, do you ask, when is the best time to go looking for mushrooms? Well, let me show you the types of mushrooms and when to find them.
