chapter 1: the beginning

In a high school sat two friends, one was making a paper airplane, the other was listening to music and drawing in a notebook. The one who was making the paper airplane was benna tennyson, and she was a rather... Strange girl so to speak. Benna aimed the paper airplane and threw it, the paper airplane flew across the room eventually flying straight into the teachers hair. The teacher looked up and benna covered her face with a book, the boy next to her laughed a bit... This boy was y/n l/n, he was a street artist with exceptional talent for his art. The clock ticked and with it time went, eventually causing benna to look at the clock during the last few minutes of school.

"Come on, come on." Benna muttered. Y/n looked at her and smiled a bit as he finished his drawing, his drawing was of benna with flowers all around her... Y/n never would admit this to somebody but he has had a crush on benna since middle school.

"I want to remind you all that it's not to late to sign up for summer school." The teacher said. "I will be teaching summer school this year." she said. The bell rung and the students stood up and walked out the door, benna and y/n were walking together when a voice called out to them.

"Benna. Can I have a word with you?" The teacher asked. Benna scowled and y/n laughed causing benna to flip him off. Outside the school stood two bullies harassing a kid.

"Normally we'd take your cash and beat you up, but since it's summer break I'll cut ya some slack." Cash said. "Now fork over the cash so we can get out of here."  cash demanded.

"Back off." a voice called out to them. Cash and JT looked in the direction the voice came from, standing her ground was benna with a stern face.

"Oh yeah? and who's gonna make us?" Cash asked. Y/n then put a hand on cash and JT's shoulder.

"Do we have a problem here?" Y/n asked as the two bullies around slightly. Upon the realization that y/n was the one gripping their shoulders the two boys were instantly filled with fear. The two shook their heads side to side and backed away from y/n.

"Good... Now get lost." y/n ordered, the two boys began running away but y/n stopped cash.

"Oh and if I hear about you bullying a single person while I'm away..." y/n said gripping cash's shoulder, cash nodded very quickly and y/n released him. The kid then came up to him.

"Thank you so much." he said. Y/n smiled.

"No problem... Now go enjoy your vacation." Y/n said. The kid smiled and ran away, y/n and benna heard the honk of a horn and turned to see the rust bucket. The window rolled down and revealed an old man with white hair and a Hawaiian shirt.

"Benna y/n come on we're burning daylight, I want to make it to the campsite before nightfall." The man said.

"Coming grandpa." Benna said. She and y/n then began running to the rust bucket, benna entered through the front seat door and sat shotgun, y/n entered through the RV door and saw a red headed girl on a computer. Benna looked back and scowled when she saw gwen.

"What are you doing here? Grandpa what is she doing here?" benna asked.

"This wasn't my idea dweeb... Someone convinced my mom that going camping for the summer would be a good experience for me." Gwen replied.

"Grandpa please tell me you didn't." benna said. Max looked at the girl.

"I thought it would be fun if your cousin came along with us this summer." Max said.

"Aw, I can't believe I waited all year for this trip and the queen of cuties comes along for the ride." Benna said.

Hey! I had my own vacation already all planned out too, you know?" Gwen said, she then pulled out a binder with a crap ton of paper in it. "Each activity is color-coded, so I never do the same thing two days in a row." Gwen stated, benna had a surprised look on her face.
