Lost (S)

This is an extremely angsty scene. I have no idea why I wrote this. I'm in a crying mood🥲.
Context: He didn't tell her he loved her too and now it was too late.

''It's okay, I love you. Even though I know you dont, I will always love you." She assured. "Which is why I will always protect you.'' she said as she let go of their holding hands.

Everything seemed, as it slowed for moment. He widened his eyes and looked at her as if trying to reach her again. She locked eyes with him and smiled softly as if trying to tell tell him that it's okay.

He tried to go over the edge one last time, to hold her, to hug her, to kiss her and tell her that he too always loved her.

He tried to go over the edge to save her  but was stopped short by a pair of arms wrapped around his body.

Someone was shouting at him. He didn't know who.

All he knew was that the girl he loved was off the edge, falling to her death.

He had lost her.

Thier eyes locked one last time telling each other the things none of them had the courage to say aloud.

He felt his heart break as he saw her smile at him one last time.

He felt his soul shatter as he saw her body submerge in water.

He had lost her.

Forever.
