Dolphin Girl

Chapter 2

Lilly sat in her room playing with her dolls with her imaginary friend dolphin girl, she could not understand dolphin girl at the time because she wasn’t a dolphin, but she wanted to be, every night she sat in her bed wishing and wishing to get to swim with the fishes and get to do tricks in the water and to be a dolphin girl. But her wish never came true she was really sad because that’s all she wanted, for Christmas she made a wish to Santa, on her birthday she blew out the candles and made a wish, but still, her wish never came true, she hoped one day it would but that one day was not today….yesterday…..or 2 years ago. An hour later her mom called her in to eat breakfast, Lilly said: “I want one of my wishes to come true but they never did yet mommy… do you know why.”

Her mom said, “ all you have to do is keep wishing each and every day and one magical star will soon grant that wish, and you will rely on that star to grant all your wishes.” Lilly looked with a shocked face “really?” Lilly said, “yes I bet your wish will come true,” her mother said. After her mom told her about the wishing star she knew she just had to keep wishing so each and every day she kept wishing but as she was wishing she started to daze off and fall asleep. When she woke up she said to herself “I wasn’t tired so why did I fall asleep while wishing?” she went downstairs and ate dinner and at the dinner table she told her mom her dream, her dream was that she was swimming in the ocean with all the fishes surrounding her, she saw crabs, starfish, and even octopuses. She said that dream was incredible. Her mom said “Lilly you must’ve had a good dream if it was incredible” Lilly said “yeah it was amazing” but after a while, she went back into her room and she was thinking to herself, she said to her self that “why did I fall asleep while wishing and why did I have a dream about my wish, of course, she didn’t tell her mom about it because then her wish wouldn’t come true. She wondered if that was the first stage of the wishing star.
