When Muzan battled against the strongest demon slayer and lost, he had not only managed to lose control over one demon.

Another demon had broken free; a miracle that had gone unnoticed by the progenitor of demons himself. Because this demon was so weak, the moment Muzan's life was almost on the brink of death by a certain mighty slayer, was the moment the demon slipped from Muzan's control.

Without the man's knowledge, the little demon had come to find an ally named Tamayo who was also free from Muzan's constraints. Together, with the help of Tamayo, the two traitor demons tweaked their bodies to be completely free from the curse, enabling them to speak and move with privilege.

Due to this, Muzan felt it. There is also another demon aside from Tamayo who was now out of his control. However, he sensed that this demon holds little to no value, deeming it worthless of his attention.

Tamayo was in charge of medicine-related studies within the safety of their hidden lair, while the other demon was tasked to perform arduous activities outside.

Many years have passed since Kokushibo had last seen the decaying body of his younger twin brother. No longer shall he expect to find Yoriichi in the land of the living, yet remnants of memories remained stubbornly. Kokushibo chose to ignore those thoughts and bury the memory of his brother in the deepest parts of his mind, opting to focus on the mission at hand that was specifically ordered by his lord.

Muzan had given him a familiar yet daunting task once again; to search for a particular flower Kokushibo knows nothing of. Yet Muzan had given him enough descriptions of what the flower looked like, such that Kokushibo had memorized the details and created visions that Muzan also ingrained in his mind.

However, as he searched the land that he was assigned to for the whole night, he found none. Unfortunate news, but not new nonetheless.

The sun is coming in a few minutes, and so he deemed this time a mission unsuccessful, deciding to announce with solemnity to his lord. "Lord Muzan... I bear a piece of regrettable information once again. The flower... that we have been seeking... is not present in these lands... Forgive me of my worthlessness."

Kokushibo's mind was immediately clouded with a heavy and ominous presence, a sign that Muzan's thoughts are currently invading his senses and was speaking through his blood. "I see," Muzan did not sound surprised, however, there was a tinge of disappointment and anger lacing his voice. "Very well. Your assistance is no longer needed. In time, I shall be needing your presence if a circumstance arises. For now, you shall continue to annihilate the rest of these slayers."

"I understand, my lord." Muzan's blood surged inside of him, then the presence of his angered lord disappeared, leaving Kokushibo with his thoughts alone.

As Kokushibo prepared himself to leave the grounds, walking to the forest that is quite far in walking distance, the wind changed and he felt another strange presence coming to him. Kokushibo stopped and faced the unexpected guest.

This guest appeared a moment later, landing at a considerable distance away from him.

'A demon,' Kokushibo mused as he eyed the creature before him. 'But her aura is odd.'

The demon slowly approached him, yet she was still farther away as if taking cautious steps in front of a predator to avoid being pounced on. "Good morning! Isn't it too late for a powerful demon like you to be strolling around the land? The sun is almost coming, you know."

Kokushibo's unblinking eyes couldn't help but narrow as if breaking down the demon to pieces in front of him. He analyzed her carefully and tracked her motion with perfection. Already, he found this very demon peculiar. "And I shall say the same to you." His eyes traveled to the sky for a moment to observe the colors of the sky. "If you desire... to prolong this conversation further, I suggest we could interact within those forests. However... it is only up to you... if you want to be scorched by the unrelenting sun."
