Zantetsu didnt recall how it happened. He woke up in the middle of the night, coughing up flowers. He doesnt even know whats wrong with him. Not until he tells his teammates about it.

When Zantetsu first met Reo, he thought that he was some kind of mean, rich boy that would call him stupid. And he was kinda right. He was a mean boy at first, but Reo became nicer too him when they became closer. And Zantetsu kinda allowed Reo too call him stupid.

Their friendship also purely formed just because of Nagi, who was insistant of Reo using Zantetsu in his formulas, so he himself could rest in the goalpost. Reo was hesitant at first, but after a couple of plays, he became fond of the four-eyed boy.

And they became friends because of it, and they actually ate lunch together with Nagi. And they even maintained that friendship after the second selection. When the tryouts for the vs U20 match were being held, Zantetsu noticed something was off about Reo.

He sat next too Reo on his bed, and looked at him. Reo looked tired and grumpy from everything that happened before. Zantetsu didnt see Reo around that time yet, so he was a bit confused about what happened. He tried asking him what happened in the 2nd selection.

The only awnser Reo could make up was 'Im mad, at Nagi.' He didnt try too sound mad at Zantetsu, but his tone came off more different that he had imagined himself sounding like.

He then felt Zantetsu's arms wrap around him, as a hug. Reo had no words, he just hugged him back. Zantetsu had a warm feeling from the interraction the two of them had, which was easily describable as 'butterflies in your stomach.'

The whole time in try-outs, Reo would talk about his bizarre life as a very rich, popular and smart highschooler, and Zantetsu would be more than happy too listen too him talk about it.

And the two were kinda upset they couldnt do a triangle formation with Nagi, since they were both on team C, but Tsurugi came in the last team C match, and Mikage's match came earlier.

Even during their two weeks off, Zantetsu stayed over 2 days at Reo's house. Reo thought they were getting along cause they were good friends, and he was right.

The side effect of those precious moments is that it left this mark of onesided love on Zantetsu.

It happened in the Neo Egoist league, Zantetsu woke up in the middle of the night with a wild cough. He slept it off, and the next day he woke up with a few flower petals laying around on his matress.

He asked his teammates iff anyone had brought flowers into the stratum. Rin face-palmed himself while shidou laughed. The other three just looked at him confused.

Zantetsu then grabbed the petals and showed them too the rest of PxG. Noone in Blue Lock had brought flowers. And the only guy who did had them tattooed onto his arm.

It was strange, really. The petals themselves were very pretty. A dark purple and pink-ish color, and a round shape at the end. Loki searched the flower online, and they learned it was a purple peony flower's petals.

Noone knew where the petals came from. Well that was pretty much the case until they went too get their breakfast.

Tokimitsu and Rin were sitting with Zantetsu, who was kinda struggling with watching what he was doing, since he decided not too wear his glasses. And he had a small cough. The flower petals were falling from his mouth.

The rest of the PxG players arrived at the table and saw the petals go out his mouth. Everyone was confused, even Zantetsu himself.

Nanase looked into the guy's mouth. And No, he didnt eat any flowers. The petals just randomly appeared from his mouth whenever he coughed. Shidou had another laughing fit.
