" Kameron !" I heard my mom yell in my ear. "Get up! It's two o'clock in the afternoon. Just because its summertime doesn't mean you can sleep in as late as you want. Now get up!"
" I'm getting up go away" I retorted. I really hope she isn't planning on doing that every time I decide to actually get some sleep.
By the time I got up, got a shower, got dressed and went downstairs it was 4:00, almost time for dinner. So just like every other Saturday night, it was my turn to make dinner. By 5:00 dinner was done but I wasn't very hungry since I had just consumed 3 slices of leftover pizza. So I left my mom to eat while I went and got Ice-cream at the custard stand around the block. I don't like leaving her home alone but I really wanted Ice-cream.
My dad died of lung cancer when I was 3. The sad part was that he never even smoked. It was second hand smoke from my mom and his parents. So as soon as my mom found out he had cancer she quit smoking. And ever since he died its just been me and my mom.
I got to the custard stand and there was no one there which made me really happy. I walked up to the stand and there was only one person working, and he was really cute.
" Hi welcome to Harley's custard stand my names Justin, what can I get for you?"
"Hi,yea I'll have a vanilla cone with chocolate jimmies please" I said to him
"Right away" he said and smiled a smile that could light up the world.
As he was making my ice cream I was looking at all the cars passing by. When I'm bored I do this thing where I look at people passing by and try to think of there life story. It may seem dumb but it's actually pretty entertaining.
"Hear you go" he said waking me out of my daze. I turned around with my hand up in the air for some odd reason.
"Sorry what" I said as I turned around and smacked my ice cream out of his hand and straight into his face. I was never in my life more humiliated. " Oh my gosh I'm so sorry" I said still stunned by my stupidity. I reached behind the counter and grabbed a wad of napkins and started rubbing the ice cream off of his face.
"It's okay don't worry about it" he said with a smirk. There was a long pause between us as we starred at each other. "Can I get your number" he inquired.
"Yea, that would be great, let me just wright it down for you" I orated as I grabbed a napkin and a pen from my pocket and wrote my number down. "There you go"
"Great I'll call you."
"Okay great" I said walking away with a smile on my face but yet without even getting my ice cream.
When I got home I ran straight up to my room and sat by my phone. "Kameron is that you" my mom yelled up the stairs.
"Yea" I replied without much interest in anything she had to say.
