Melody's POV
I watched Ethan and Benny walk towards the school together, and smiled, catching up with them. And I wasn't the only one.
"Guys! Wazzzuuuup?" Rory asked.
"Rory, you're- We thought you were dead," Ethan said.
"All I know is, I woke up the morning after the party feeling awesome. No asthma, I don't need my glasses, and I barely have to sleep anymore. The only problem's the sun: kind of annoying."
"You're a fledgling too?" Benny asked but Rory's scent was far too strong to be a fledgling.
"Pfft! Heck, no! I'm rocking the full-on vampire action, dude. The big V! Can I get a what-what?"
"What? You drank human blood?" Ethan asked, disgusted.
"They said if I didn't, I'd die. All the other kids were doing it!" Rory whined.
"Do you have any idea what you've just done to yourself?" Benny scolded.
"I'm immortal and all-powerful, dude. Ka-chow! Sorry, I gotta go to church."
"Church? Vampires don't do church," Ethan pointed out.
"Jesse says we have to. He's so bossy. He's all, blah-blah, the prophecy, and blah-blah, you must find the Cuban animals, or-"
"Cuban animals? What are you talking about?"
"I don't know. That's what it sounded like. Anyway, we'll hang out later. Or "fang-out"! Zing!"
"Come on. Grab your backpack. You and I are going to church," Ethan said as Rory walked away.
"Wierd question, but did Rory have sunblock just on his nose?" I asked.
"What?" Benny asked, as Ethan and I started following the vampires.

Melody's POV
"Benny, is this really a good idea? I mean, we're just spying on them for right now," I whispered as Benny filled a pitcher full of holy water. He didn't get a chance to answer me as the priest approached us.
"Uh... It's for my, uh it's for my Aunt Sassy. She, uh, she couldn't get to mass. She's got the Belgian Pig Flu, and stuff and Ebola! Anyway, I gotta go. Keep the faith, eh?" Benny said as we left the awkward encounter.
"Well that wasn't awkward at all," I huffed as Benny and I joined Ethan.
"Shh! They're over there," Ethan said, pointing out the vampires to Benny and me.
"Look at them. Hoodies and sunglasses. Nice look if you're-" Benny was interrupted.
"Hey," Sarah said, startling the boys.
"Looking good," Benny said.
"What are you doing here?" Ethan asked.
"Same as you. I'm following them. I just wish I knew what they were up to," she lamented.
"Well, according to Rory, they're after the "Cuban animals"," Benny replied and I held back a snicker.
"Cuban animals? You mean cubile animus? I've heard Jesse mention it before. I think it's Latin or something," Sarah said and my eyes widened. If that was the case, then shit was about to hit the fan.
"Two hundred and nineteen," Ethan whispered.
"Wikipedia says that cubile animus is Latin for "nest of souls'," Benny read off his phone.
