—————-------------------
Lady Babette never truly got to experience her childhood, she gave birth at 12, married at 16, married to what seemed to be the most evil man alive.
——————-

Babette was just 16 when she moved into the Burton manor with her husband, Calvin.
It was an elegant home, with wood panelling, and dark blue walls. On the outside, it seemed as if she had everything a woman could dream of, a rich husband, beautiful jewellery, a home she could only imagine in her dreams, but it wasn't some fairytale, it was the furthest thing from it.
——-

Babette sat by her vanity, applying powder under her eyes. She stared into the mirror, she couldn't even recognise her own reflection. Was this really her? She felt as if she had lost her self.
She brushed her thoughts away, standing up and taking her tea with her.

She walked through the garden, hoping for some peace against her thoughts. The garden always calmed her. Something about how the frogs laid by the pond, or how the birds would always sit by her favourite bush, always made her feel at ease.
She sat on a bench, pressing her lips to the glass taking slow sips of her tea, before noticing a figure in the distance"
"Hello?" she called out "Is anyone there?"
She stood up with caution, walking towards the tree. Each step she took crunched a fallen leaf below her feet.

As she approached the tree, all she could do is stand in horror.
In front of her, her hand maid Beatrice hung from the tree by her neck. The rope rocked back and fourth against the cold wind.
Babette's eyes filled with tears as she dropped to the ground, her glass falling with her.
