Jennie's hand trembles as she takes the envelope that's been delivered from the mailbox and tears it open. Her eyes scan each word and she lets out a sob as the realization covers her like a bucket of cold water. Ever since finding out she couldn't get pregnant, she's been trying tirelessly to get approved to adopt a kid. If she couldn't have her own, then she wanted to give a child a life that they can only dream of. Her mother always told her to share her blessings and that's exactly what she's been trying to do.

Footsteps echo in the hallway before they stop at the foyer and turn toward the front door. Lisa's eyes fill with worry as she sees her wife crying over a piece of paper. "Honey?" She asks, her voice echoing throughout the empty home. "What's wrong?" Lisa worries that Jennie might be crying at the idea that she can't get pregnant even though Lisa swears they've been doing fine for a few months now. Jennie hasn't cried about that in awhile. She approaches her wife and rubs her back. "Jennie?"

"We got approved, Lis!" Jennie wraps her arms around Lisa's shoulders and pulls her in, more tears fill Jennie's eyes as she remembers how much time and money they've spent working with lawyers and adoption agencies just to get approved and cleared to adopt a kid. Adopt a kid that can finally be theirs. "We can finally have a family, baby."

Lisa can hear the excitement in Jennie's voice and it makes her heart pound faster than the first time she saw her. She'd do this whole tiring process all over again if it meant hearing Jennie's excited voice and seeing her smile after months of disappointment and waiting. "I can finally see you be the mother you've always wanted to be..." Lisa whispers softly into Jennie's ear and kisses her cheek with tenderness. All they felt at this moment was love, love for one another, love for the family they're about to have.

"Yeah....and I can't wait to be that mother with you. I just know you'll be the best mom there ever was. You'll treat her exactly like how you treat me," Lisa smirks and gives Jennie's backside a little pinch. "Oh really? And who says we're going to get a girl?"

"Says me."

"Uh...huh. And what if I wanted a boy?"

"Yeah right, I know you've always wanted a girl. Don't think I don't see the way you look at Jia whenever Irene braids her hair." Lisa blushes at that. She looks at Jia like she hung the moon and the stars, that little girl was so beautiful and precious that all she ever wanted was to have one just like her. She wanted to braid her hair in the mornings while they ate breakfast together. "I'll let you win this time," Lisa and Jennie fall silent as they look at the letter that made their dreams come true. "But even if we get a boy, I'll love him just as much."

"I know, baby," Jennie touches Lisa's cheek and kisses her lips. "But you know damn well you want another princess in your life," Lisa rolls her eyes and chuckles when Jennie starts leading her back up to their bedroom.

"Ah..yes, like having one princess isn't enough," Jennie was more of a brat than a princess, if they're both being honest here, but Lisa wouldn't have it any other way. Both her girls were going to be princesses in her eyes.
