As the days passed, I found myself growing more comfortable around Gemini. It was surprising how easy it was to be with him, and I couldn't help but feel a flicker of happiness whenever we spent time together. Maybe it was because he was playing the part of my fake boyfriend, but there were moments when I caught glimpses of a different side to him—something beyond his usual aloofness.
During lunchtime, we sat together, chatting casually. However, our peaceful moment was interrupted when Wai showed up with a group of students. I could sense trouble brewing, and I braced myself for what was to come.
"Prove it then! Show us that you two are actually dating," Wai demanded, his frustration evident.
In that moment, I felt a mix of panic and determination. I couldn't back down now, not when we had come this far. Without thinking, I looked at Gemini, silently pleading with him to play along. To my surprise, he seemed to get the message, and he stood up, closing the distance between us.
As he fed me a bite of his sandwich, the cheers of the students around us filled the air. I was flustered but determined not to let Wai win. And then, something unexpected happened—Gemini leaned in, and for a moment, it felt like he was going to kiss me.
Before anything else could happen, Wai interrupted, pulling Gemini away. Their little show was over, and Wai's group left, clearly amused by the spectacle.
As I looked at Gemini, I couldn't believe what had just happened. He had never shown any interest in getting close to anyone, let alone me. And yet, there he was, playing along with our act to the point of almost kissing me. It left me feeling flustered, confused, and oddly thrilled.
Gemini turned back to me, his cool facade firmly in place, but there was something in his eyes—a hint of surprise, concern, and maybe even something more. He reached out to touch my forehead, asking if I was sick.
"I-I'm fine," I stammered, my heart still pounding in my chest. "Just a little overwhelmed, I guess."
He nodded, pulling his hand back, and I couldn't help but feel disappointed that his touch was gone. I was still trying to process what had just happened, and I knew I had to be careful not to read too much into it. After all, this was all just a fake dating charade.
But as we finished lunch and continued with our day, I couldn't shake off the strange mix of emotions that lingered within me. There was something about Gemini that intrigued me, something beyond his arrogant exterior. I didn't know what it meant, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to find out.
For now, I had to focus on our plan to keep Wai away and maintain our fake relationship. But deep down, I couldn't help but wonder if there was more to this fake dating charade than I had ever expected.
